SUA (Subsystem for UNIX Applications)

Has anybody ever heard of this: [w]Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX[/w]?

Basically, it just makes Windows into a POSIX environment. It seems awesome, and it sounds like it has some amazing potential to make Windows way more bearable and useful (e.g., installing Bash without having to use Cygwin wouldn’t be a big deal), but I’ve found that most systems built around it (that is, both the BSD-like pkg_* utilities and the Debian bootstrapping solutions, and the NetBSD solution is dead) work quite poorly.

Is Microsoft even working on this anymore? I found it by browsing Win7 preferences somewhere, and was really excited it about for the first few days.
