I´ve been thinking about getting myself a tablet/digitizer - hearing here on forum how good they are.
Here´s my problem - I haven´t got any experience with them - what so ever - so what should I buy ?
My needs are for Flash, for fun, for private work (I´m not good enough to earn money on my work - ehhm yet )
So will a Trust Wireless Design & Work Tablet 100 (4"x3") do ? - It´s cheap here in Denmark - not even 50$.
Do I need something bigger (and more expensive) ?
Anyone want to share their experinceses and give good advice ?
I have a wacom, but also nice is our calcomp (which is actually a local company). They had some problems because they boards were so durrable that they never broke and people never needed a replacement :-\
Ofcourse - MS wouldn’t be the a leading company if it didn’t force perpetual upgrades! But I think we’ve already covered that in previous threads. So far, I don’t believe Wacom is a “perpetual upgrade” kind of company. It’s pricey, but you get high quality products. I don’t know any Wacom-owners who ever regretted purchasing a tablet.
In any case - I have two Wacoms and I’ve never tried anything else. I have a Graphire and an Intuos2 and they are both very durable - especially the Graphire (it has withstood much abuse from yours truly). In the case of tablets - bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better. Get a size that’s comfortable for you. If you have long arms, a larger tablet might work best. I have small hands and short arms… so my bigger tablet is only 6x8. But if you are a beginner (especially if you have a limited budget), I would highly recommend the Graphire.
$50 sounds a bit cheap for a good tablet. Make sure that the resolution and sensitivity is good and compare it to others (like Wacom). But again, if you’re a beginner, there’s no need to shell out too much money.

yeah between the 6x8 and the 9x12, the 6x8 is much easier to use (especially in pen mode with the mouse ;)). The 9x12 I only use when I can sit it down in my lap propped up against my knees for some serious draw time. Otherwise, it sits in the corner.
yeah i got a Wacom Grapher 2 and dont regret it at all! i have never heard of anyothers but i do know that Wacom has this stuff down to a science, heck thats all they do…so they i think make the best. But also make sure like Ren girl said its a good size for you, but also make sure you can fit it on your desk! lol. wacom has a thing at their site that tells you the perfect tablet for you…try it.
