Text Fade

I have a fairly simple question.

I made a new movie symbol. In it I made a text box that contains one word.

On the main timeline I have the movie clip move and fade with a motion tween and change the alpha settings.

When I view it in editor, it works just fine, but when I export or preview in html, the text moves but does not fade.

Any help would be much appreciated. :smirk:

Thanks

if the text is inside that movie clip, anything inside it(the mc) should fade… care to provide the .fla?

yeah, that’s what I thought, but like I said it works in Flash, but when I export or publish it doesn’t fade.

while i’m asking questions, what is the difference between ‘exporting’, and ‘publishing’?

Here is the fla

change reporting to static text and it’ll work…

aahhhh

See I knew it was something simple.
I think the reason I made it dynamic in the first place was that I read somewhere that it might help the font look clearer?

Oh well…

Thanks for the help badpacket :thumb:

hmm… not sure about the clarity part… but hey… always glad to help

you could have embed font oulines for your characters :sigh:

and yes, it makes your fonts look less fusier

How would I go about embedding font outlines?

and…

If I used a rare font in my flash proj, would everyone see it correctly, or would it be replaced by a font that they have installed?

Thanks

now that’s the whole thing of embeding your fonts, your fonts are viewable by everybody and it’s dynamic (you can send variables to it)

just make a dynamic textbox, go to characters (in properties) and then “all characters”

ah crap, i should have done that on my site

*@#$

excuse me a minute

:geek: wow… thanks alot Seticus. This step is so simple, but I didn’t know where to begin to look for it.

I just joined this forum today, and I’ve already learned alot.

Thanks everyone for the help!

you’re welcome
