The American Dollar Bill

I’m canadian, so even though I do come across american money quite often, it is sort of uncommon. I was looking at my U.S. $1.

Why are there 6’s stamped on four spots on the front? 6666

I heard the all seeing eye is actually not pointed up, but down… so the devil’s been watching our every move?

Why is that devil/hell sign over the eagle’s head on the back?

What’s up with your money you freaks?

What’s up with your money you freaks?

about 67 cents Canadian…

:stunned:

Rev

forty cents, dorky boy. Hahahaha.

sorry, gave you guys too much credit…

don’t worry, won’t happen again…

dang Newfies anyways…

:trout:

Rev

too much credit? you gave yourself twenty extra cents worth of credit.

I just gave myself credit. yeah.

I had it backwards… I meant a dollar canadian is about 67 cents american… give or take a nickel…

brain fart…

Rev

either way our dollar sucks… no way around it.

I cannot figure out why you yankees dont come up here and shop like a crazy MoFo - you could cash in like a grand and have almost 2 grand canadain to spend!! Our prices are almost the same as yous…

It’s an awful long walk from San Francisco…

:sigh:

Rev

the sixes you see are not commom to all dollars. some have 12’s 11’s etc.

the real interesting things are the owl in the upper right hand corner, and the double-sided Seal on the back… what you see on the right is the front of the Great Seal, and what you see on the left is the back…

is anyone else at all concerned that we have a TWO-SIDED great seal? anyone at all disturbed by this? just me? :o

and if you fold it just right, you can see a picture of the WTC burning!

of course, if you fold it a different way, you can probably see a picture of mickey mouse dancing with a winged elephant, but that doesn’t fit into any known conspiracy theories, so we won’t fold it that way!

your money is wierd!
Check this out: 9/11 money

How exactly does that work out?

And our money also has a magnetic strip inside and a watermark as well.

And soon they are planning on adding colors (I posted a thread on this way back)

I never knew about the Osama…:stunned:

Mdipi: Check this out then…

beta, canadian money is so way better than american
…just not in value

I’ll try and find the site with all the security nonsense in it

and ours IS a rainbow!

I went to Montreal the past two new years eve’s and things are much more expensive to supplement the exchange.

But it still is a cool place

this isn’t what I was searching for, I’ll post again when I find it, but this is pretty funny

lost - If I remember correctly, we don’t have a metallic strip in our money at this time. We do have a 1/20" film strip on which the denomination is photographically imprinted (hold it up to the light and you will see a row of 20’s). We also add certain colored fibers to the paper before printing, and “a few other things.”

and none of the “security features” totally works…

Security features
The current series of $100 bills have many security features designed to foil counterfeiters.

1 The metallic patch changes from green to gold when tilted. It cannot be peeled off.

2 Green dots appear randomly on each bill. They glow under UV light and can be scratched off.

3 The fine detail in the eyes and hair can’t be easily duplicated.

4 The texture of the raised ink can be felt with your fingers.

5 The words “Bank of Canada” appear in microprinting in various
places on the bill.

6 The special bank note paper does not glow under UV light.

7 The colours used in the bill are difficult to reproduce.

8 Each bill has a unique serial number on the reverse side. A batch of fake bills may all have the same serial number.

The latest series of bills, of which only the $10 bill has been released, has some new security features. The Bank of Canada says new $50 and $100 bills are being released last to allow more time to develop more sophisticated anti-counterfeit devices.

A glowing blue Canadian coat of arms and red security fibres appear when viewed under UV light.

A hidden number 10 can be seen here when the bill is viewed along its edge.

The golden maple leaves shimmer when the bill is tilted.

(I hope they release the 50 soon! heheh. hey… wait… there isn’t even a twenty out yet… only 5 and 10. I hope they release the twenty soon!)
