The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Review Please :)

Hellooo! Review Please :beam:

::knocks on monitor:::

I am so excited for this game. I think it releases today. I played III on the xbox and actually enjoyed it more than on the PC.

I plan to pick up a 360 as soon as my local Best Buy gets anything other than the rip-off core system. I am sitting on like $300 in gift certificates

gamespot has a 12 hour marathon of some dude playing it on X360 you can get more info and watch the video if your a subscribed member

It looks nice but I wont be purchasing this game Iā€™ll rent it and if I like it I will purchase it.

Never played a FP RPG it does look quite huge to from what Iā€™ve read.

hope you get your hands on a x360 fes your gonna love it and when you do add me to your friends list gamertag: gr1md3ath

Get Ghost Recon its fantastic :thumb:

oh man I am going to have to check that out. Thanks man!

Always a big fist person shooter fan - I have never played a FP RPG untill ESIII - I had more than 60 hours invested into the game before I finally beat it. Its was like the GTA of the RPGā€™s

I just loved the freedom it gave you to deviate from the linear storyline and do side missions.

I know i will probably have one by april. :thumb:

I will get ghost recon for sure. I never pass up a clancy game.

Iā€™ll be looking forward to playing with you online soon fes

My friend got it yesterdayā€¦ and i got it like 4 hours ago.

all i can say is this is the best game in the world (RPG Medivalā€¦ although im playing it as a FPS so?).

BTW 6800GT can play on HIGH, havent installed it on the laptop yetā€¦ when i do iā€™ll tell you how it runs on the 7800. Oh and my bro is installing it on a 5200ā€¦ yea iā€™ll tell you if it runs lol.

//edit,
5200 fails to run adequetly.
And dont minimise it seems to lock up (althoug it wouldnt allow me to minise i did crtl alt delete to minisize).

//edit2, here i scanned in the map real fastā€¦ wish i had a larger scanner but ehh i barley use it.

whats everyone else thinking?

Iā€™m waiting for it show show up in my mailbox, but that probably wonā€™t be until Saturday. For some reason, GameFly is slooooooow when it comes to getting me games.

Hey Fester: The core is a rip by comparison but I got one on launch day (the only 360 I could find). The thing was giving me some graphical issues (artifacting) so I sent it in for repair and they sent me back a brand new 360 with a HDD for no extra money!!! Took one week to get it back from the day I called tech support. Not too shabby.

I donā€™t like RPGā€™s - but being able to play in first-person makes this a good game for me. I only played for a few minutes but it was kinda fun and looks really nice. :thumb2:

I got it yesterday and omg itā€™s great!

I spent 2 hours trying to steal a horse (cuz Iā€™m poor). It was fun just walking through the world to get to the next stable and things. The world is full of life, walking through the land is no longer the chore it used to be. There are animals, new plants around every corner, hidden shrines that give you power, secret caves, bandits, abandoned camps, and many other things that make it exciting. The world is alive instead of just a ā€œvideo gameā€.

I love that you can do anything you want. In shops, instead of having a list of all the items they sell, you can actually SEE them on the shelvesā€¦ and steal them if your good. Iā€™ve played for like four hours and havenā€™t even dented the game. The story is compelling and interestingā€¦ and much more involved than Morrowind. It gives you way-points to go to, and different markers on the map, making it much easier to follow. But you donā€™t have to follow the story if you donā€™t want toā€¦ you just wont get very powerful.

They put all these little details in, like I found a grape farm, and went and picked the grapes from every bush and sold them in townā€¦ making enough money to buy a shield. Plants grow back over night. The time and weather change as you progress and the world acts accordinglyā€¦ shops are closed at night, people are sleeping if you break into your house; the only people outside are a few guards.

Overall the game is great. My jaw drops around every corner, and even the littlest things are fun. The voice acting is superb and really brings you into the game too. Definitely a must buy!

This suxs im a vampireā€¦ time to go fix this oneā€¦ hint dont be a vampire its not fun at all you like glow red and smoke comes off of you during the day.

but they are sooooo cool!

okay 3d go become a vampire and tell me its not the most annoying thing ever? And 3d you ever mess with the tes editor its easy as hell to use(code wise and placement of object wise), and you can create your own models. You liking 3d stuff lol.

I have the 360 version

yeah, I wana try to be a vampire with another character sometimeā€¦ i could never find one in the original morrowind.

^you had to have the expansion for it. And iā€™m no longer a vamp takes like 2 hours to go though and get the cure.

this game is amazing! and i only played an hour cuz i had to work, i got it this morning so quickly installed it and started the first 10 mins i was amazed cuz of the graphics im playing on a geforce 6800gt so got everything on high and its amazing and the combat is great too! cant wait to get home and play some more!

Awesome review 3D! Thanks

I want it sooooo bad now.

It got a 9.6 rating at gamespot

Iā€™m getting curious about this game but I dont have time to play a game that requires hundreds of hours of gameplay thats why I love burnout revenge it has a replay value and a funfactor unmatched IMHO :beam: :thumb:

But this game does look interesting might end up buying it just to see if it lives up to the hype.

IGN has one as well

I bought this game but just sold it to a friend. I was really pumped about it but after playing for 4 hours, it just didnā€™t ā€œexciteā€ me I guess. I think itā€™s too much of an RPG for my tastes. I really love Zelda and had a blast with Fable and Jade Empire, but I couldnā€™t get into this one.

Personally though, if you liked III as much as you say you did, you will LOVE this game. Thatā€™s the consensus on the IGN boards anyway. Enjoy!

Awesome - Thanks Sureshot.

Man I need to get my 360 this week. I have been dragging my feet way too long.

Customers of Best Buy tell me it is really long and tedious. But really long. I think thats what they wanted though. Oh, and graphics are amazing. Too bad they wasted a processor on 24 hour AI schedualing though.
