cool site. i like it a lot. I don’t think that there is much to change. The only thing i would do is make the button rollover animation faster. But other than that, it’s very good.
Peace
it’s pretty cool. i think it’d look better if your modules’ titles were a different font to the font in the module.
oh, and the page is too tall… I get scrollbars… imo, it could do with being about 75-100 pixels shorter. oh, the same goes for the splash page - that’s too wide and too high!
I agree Stigma , the faster the better.
What did you think of the loading time? (what’s your connection speed?)
Asphalt, thank you for pointing that out, is your screen set to 800x600 ?, because I designed it on 1024x768 and 1280x1024.
I guess I should accommodate all screen res.
As for the font, I’m using two fonts “bank goth” and the pixelfont, I suppose i could use “bank goth” for the heading.
I like it. Not that original but i like ti never the less.
Seems to be very 2 advanced inspired but not to closely. I think one or two of the sounds are the same. Some of tha amimation has the same feel.
Love the buttons. Very cool and slick. Love the color shceme and the HTML bg. Loveing the sub navigation. I would maybe do something more to indicate that there are buttons in the sub modules. Also your back button seems a little bulky to the rest of that navigation but it is good that u made it noticable.
I hope you are doing something more to the header. Seems like a big waste of space right now.
Love the sub header graphics as well.
Splash page seems overly big. Do something to shrik it down a bit.
Very nice well put together site. Smooth animations with good navigation. A deffinat winner :A+: :thumb:
Yeah Sintax I admit I was inspired by among others 2advanced
(keen eye you got there) , but can you blame me, they rule.
Like I mentioned this was my first attempt, that’s why it’s so conservative, but I have big plans for this site and I’m here to get advice, you made good points and in the near future all of these wrinkles will be ironed out thanks to you guys.
Thanks for the “Krit”
Rythematics you guessed it, Swift 3d, the only way to go.
nope i can’t blame u. THe first stie i built was inspired by them as well. But mine didnt’ coem close to the quality you got going there. Plus you did a good job of taken what they had on there site and making your own ideas out of them which is good. Can’t wait to see a finished version.
I have a cable connection and the waiting time was ok, but i’m not used to waiting to acces sites
maybe you could try to split your www into multiple movies.
Hey, Well I feel like I’m joining the party kinda late but Oh well!!
Good work on the site.
I found the HTML page took longer to load than the rest of the site. Could just be a bad day for my connection?
Your buttons are a bit to close to the site you copied. I would defiantly change them to something more original.
It would be handy if it told you what section you were in after you clicked the button.
In Res Dev [Is that research and development? If so maybe find a word that fits] the BG cogs look cool but would look better if you took the white outlines off of them.
I clicked Interview With A Programmer and it has some text and a button saying Read the whole interview. Why? Why not just have the entire interview after the first click?? If you do click that button, it launches a popup window. It would look better if it was setout on the main page with maybe a next and back button if needed.
News section: The text saying Arch in high places [as is some of the other text throughout the site] is blurred. If it’s a pixel font you need to put it on the .0 X and Y. Same again for the Loading text that appears after you click a button.
The graphic at the top left throughout the site seems to be activated by roll on and off making it a bit jerky. You could try using telltarget and only have it activate on one state. This would sort it out. The space to the right of it seems wasted to me. You could have something relevant in it.
I seem to be going off on one as usual so I’ll just stop for now.
It is good work, so don’t take offence from my comments/suggestions.
Maybe it’s just me, but your pixel font looks a lil blurry. Make sure all your text boxes are on whole pixel coordinates. It is a lil trend whorish, but not too bad. Other than that it’s a good start.
Well, you see all the text boxes are .0, but they are all seperate .swf’s wich are loaded into the secondary navigation and that is then loaded into the main interface so the position of the txt boxes change based on the position of the empty MC’s they are loaded into.
When these MC’s and txt boxes’ positions’ ( X Y coordinates) are added together (I guess) it adds up and becomes .363344 or .anything other than .0. I guess what i’m trying to say is i know about the problem, what i don’t know is how to fix it (yet).

ok, make sure your text boxes are at 0 and everything that contains them sits on a whole pixel. the secondary navigation swf should sit on a whole pixel inside the main interface. basically… all the empty MC’s should be on whole pixels. that should sort it out.
Ya your main menu is fine but your sub meun buttons are bigger but way to the same. Change it to something that you know is a button cause the one u have even know is a little to plane.
