The Littlest Kids Just Washed My Car lol

Hello all,

So these two tiny little kids just came by and offered to wash my car for $5 and it was just a riot. I have a big truck and neither of the kids were even tall enough to reach the windows. I said I’d give them the $5 just to do the bottom half and the littlest little boy replies “don’t you worry sir, we’ll clean the whole thing.”

A few minutes later I look out my window and see the bigger kid on his hands and knees and the littlest one standing on his back scrubbing away.

I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. I mean, when I was a kid I cut lawns, shoveled snow, raked leaves etc… but I don’t see many kids doing this stuff anymore. I’m glad to see that there are parents out there instilling this type of work ethic into their youngsters because I believe that all of those lawns I mowed as a kid really did define a big part of who I am today. :pleased:

my parents did it too. I had a job as a paper boy for 3 years (2000-2003) and now I have a job teaching computer stuff to kids in a summer camp for more than canadian minimum wage! (which is $7.15/hr for non-canucks)

I have many a dream

Haha that would be badass, I’d pay $5 for a couple kids to was my truck.

Lol, that’s hilarious… just make sure that the kid doesn’t fall or he’ll slap you with a law suit, I don’t care how young he is.

lol
Nothing like that happens around here… everybody mows their own lawns and washes their own cars

[ot]I just park my suv outside before it rains, and if the rain is really heavy, I just do some minor scrubbing and waxing once I park the suv back in my garage  If the rain was light…oh well, there is always next time.[/ot]

Thats really cool man, could you send them over here a little later this afternoon?

I remember my parents sending me out to find a summer job when I was 13, only problem was the legal age to work was like 16, so no-one wanted to hire me. By god I tried though…

Same here.

Pff, Europeans :sigh:

would be great if children would be doing stuff like that around here.
I would pay them 10€ if they clean up my dad’s car.

anybody who would do that for this price doesn’t know my dad’s car.
I mean it’s not that unusual if you see a car with something like “wash me” smeared with a finger in the dirt on one of the windows. In my dad’s car people write it on the inside of a window.
people sometimes think the car is metallic beige - but they normally notice that the color is silver when they come closer.

yeah man, thats awesome…

the kids around here are more likely to nick your mobile phone…when i lived in nottingham as a student, we lived in a very ethnic asian area. the 8 yr old kids would through cabbages with glass in them at you

im afraid the innocence you describe is sure to die out

aww should have taken pictures

That’s why I was so happy about this. I see so many spoiled kids and it really gets my goat. I had a kid that cut the grass for me every sunday last year and I paid him $20 (which is **** good money for the size of my lawn) and one day he just didn’t show and I haven’t seen him since. He was only fourteen so I know he didn’t go out and get a real job so I wonder what the heck he does with that extra hour he has on Sunday afternoons. At the very least he could’ve called me.

Also, the freakin’ kid that delivers papers next door is often a day late delivering them and his parents don’t see anything wrong with this. I asked his mom what the heck was going on and her excuse was that it rained and he had soccer. If I were that kids parent I would’ve made him miss soccer and follow through on the committment he’d made. To top it all off, the mother made a big stink 'cause I told her to send him over with my paper “NOW!”

I remember when I was sixteen and I had about 10 lawns to cut each week but I got my first real job and I couldn’t do them all. I decided to cut my jobless friend in on some of the action and introduced him to a couple of my customers. After one day he got fired from both lawn mowing jobs! I was so embarrassed! How the heck do you get fired from mowing lawns I thought. I went down to see the job he’d done and it was an absolute mess. Lawn cuttings all over the place and he didn’t do any weed whacking. He was never taught the value of a hard days work and he’s still the same to this day.

is he the one that wanted more for the deck or whatever you built… if you member that story… when you got upset that I don’t like my job heh…

Wow, CG, great encounter. I hope you gave them more than $5 for their effort.

that is so cool. and cute:P

@radio nope different guy but same crowd. lol
btw I wasn’t upset that you didn’t like your job, I was simply stating that if you don’t like it then get another job. It’s your life afterall. :wink

@thorphies no I didn’t give them more money 'cause I didn’t want to spoil them. :wink

What if it hails?

[ot]I haven’t seen any hail storms down here. Maybe I was just lucky :)[/ot]

Well, just did last thursday. Work at coffee shop now. But I haven’t started yet and still have the video store job. But I think I’ll like this much more.

Woo, I don’t do anywork… and I still get 30 bucks a month…
