So some new movie trailers are out, namely
Pirates of The Caribbean
T3 (international)
and the Hulk (international)
The Hulk, I can say, is much better than the previous trailers and I pretty much want to see it now, at least a lot more than I did before which was pretty much … not much. Pirates of The Caribbean is along the same lines, but thats pretty predictable since the previous trailer gave you about nothing from the movie. Im still not all THAT impressed but Johnny Depp is hella cool and seems to play a good role. T3 is also a little better. The trailer is, I think, a little more fast paced and seems to show more effects. Seems a little more interesting now and of course Claire Danes is a cutie…
which brings me to something I noticed yesterday. The Brokedown Pallace DVD (a movie with claire danes) was in a bargin at a department store I went to yesterday (for hersheys nuggets MMmmmmm) for $5. I figured that was pretty cheap because I thought it was a decent movie. Ive seen it twice… but probably would never watch it again because, well I dont want to. This is why I didnt get it then. The reason I bring this up is because Brokedown Palace is the only movie that ever made me cry. Yeah I cried at the end there. lol I dont know why I cried… I mean yeah I know WHY but normally something like that wouldnt have any effect on me. I guess I was just emotional at the time. But I think that means something when a movie makes me cry - either that it was captivating and I was really involved with the story and had an emotional connection with the characters, or that Im just a big weenie, one of the two.
There was one other movie that almost made me cry, and that was Saving Private Ryan - that part where they are about to give the mother the letters of her sons dying. This was the 3rd or fourth time I saw the movie. Then, it had a bigger impact because 1, I knew it was coming, and 2, I had just before then been pretty intensly educated on the horrors and hardships of the war. With that I felt it on the inside… but I didnt break down into tears that time. BP got me though, sneaky bastage.
Anywho, back to movie news NOT having to do with myself and crying…
The newest Matrix movies will be brought to IMAX as well as the big screen… though the IMAX really is the BIG screen in that case. Reloded being in IMAX theaters about 3 weeks after initial release and revolutions should open in IMAX at the time of release (coinciding with other theaters). That should be a treat. (and as we know from a previous post the new matrix reloaded trailer is also out)
Also, as with Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers DVD will be released as a ‘normal’ edition at first this summer (6/28/03) with the extended edition coming out in the fall (11/18/03). I held out for the extended for fellowship… Im pretty sure I can do the same for TTT this time around. w00t
