hey egeek, while ago i got off you a fla , with the transition of doors, in which it loads external movie. have you got any updates on that fla?

yeah , i mean how would you use that for multiple buttons, here is the file i am talking about.
sorry dude, i gotta run, here is the file i attempted, with your method for multiple butts.
do it the same way I set it up, just add more sections, for example the sample you have there has a section labeled “blah” for the first button, if you add more buttons then you would add more sections with more label names and have the new buttons target those new labels. Basically you’re repeating the entire process over for each button.
Ok I just looked at your file and it seems to be working fine, what is the problem then? The only thing that is wrong is that it’s just a mock up and things are a bit misplaced, but other than that, the setup is right. That is basically how my site works.
yeah i know its working ok , but on the outro animation, the external movie basically just disappears, rather than the door actually covering the work , it would disappear then the doors would close.

oh okay, sorry Soulty, it was late last night so I wasn’t fully understanding what was going on, but I went a head and updated the main.fla so that the content stays when a new button is clicked. Here are the files. =)

no problem, show me what you’re going to make out of those doors when you’re done. =)
ill give you a brief explanation of it. Its basically a loading animation for each section basically a preloader, ill probably add more AS to it, i am not going to use ‘Doors’ but probably a diagonal fade in or some different method of fading the section in and out. then when the section is loaded iam going to animate the external movie in with its own animation, and visa versa for the outro. (or when another section is clicked). Its for a clients website. well friend client, lol, so half serious, half time to play and experiment. Ill post it when iam finished, or i might show you some betas of it.

here is one from crucial limits as well, i found it hard to figure out before, though i havent looked at it for a while.
hmm…interesting, I just downloaded the file so I’ll study it this week and see if I can apply the same concept to my doors. This might actually work a lot better if I do it right, thanks for the link Soulty. =)
