Trasnparency! help meeee

ahhhhh help! (btw hi again guys, i havent posted in awhile and i hope you can help me)

im having trouble with transparency… when i play my movie (site made in flash) within flash mx it seems fine, but when i test it (control>test movie) and when i export/publish it, the transparency doesnt work, but only on some things… on others it does.

i am thouroughly confused about this… if you need me to post the file just tell me

the type is a graphic symbol so it is not text anymore… or am i wrong?

depends on what the type is set at, is it dynamic text or static?

cant tell now… its a symbol
the alpha is set at 10 and stays at that amount throughout its motion tween

you must embed the font outline in order to change the alpha of dynamic text =)

(and to lessen confusion, how do i do that? can i do it after turning the type into a symbol?)

yeah… double click over the symbol to edit it, select the text field and click the character… button in the properties panel :wink:

the uploaded version works fine, but the main .fla that i have on my HDD is F**ked up now… and i already embedded the fonts…

you probably didnt save the one you changed, and tested the movie when you were making the changes, thats why the swf works and the the fla on your hardrive does not. otherwise it should work.
