USB to IDE/SATA?

Hi People

Been a while since I last posted a thread. Wow. Anyway, here goes

I’m planning on buying a USB to IDE/SATA, but I want to know if its hot-swappable because it has a USB port or is it the same, old; turn off, unplug, plug in, turn on, process?

I want one so I can make quick backups, and, because my laptop HDD is a rather small 50GB, possible install programs that are space consuming onto it.

Plus, the fact the you can plug the HDD in without digging through a jungle of cables, and having to scrape your hands agains the RAM in the motherboard because the case was cheaply made without any sense.

So, yea… Back to the question  Is it hot-swappable?
