overall it looks fine…
couple of things i noticed too…
i think your main menu would look better if it was positioned ever so slightly to the right so that it was aligned with everything else…
i can see why there is a space as it lines up with your space in between the nav and the content…
sub nav for sports should be moved up so that it reflects the nav above…odd space in there?
the actual logo for the games, the one with the tree beside it, would have been the option i would have used in the main header…
the circular group of people…you could have done something abstract with it…
could maybe use that as some sort of icon?
it looks more dynamic than just the figure one…
as far as images go, unsure if you have to use certain ones but i would have used more punchy images…
close ups of competitors, action shots etc…
i agree with kit about the green…
but i read your notes as to you have to use these colours… but you have said more or less…
from a usability point of view what you have looks like it will be very easy to use and navig8…
from an aeshetic point of view the layout is fine…
i just think it needs a little something to give it that extra bit of wow and this could be done with images, but as i have said unsure what you have to work with…
nothing wrong with it at all, but, and i am not being cheeky here, i think that it looks a bit dull with something that you usually asscoiate with being an exciting event…
please do not take this as being flamed but it is my first impression…
the site layout and everything else is fine…
