I get 500MB, though most of that goes into storing e-mails. I am allowed up to 4 static IPs though, so I just use one of my computers as a spare server instead (http://kirupa.mit.edu), though it only works for connections made from within my college :cap:
You also go to MIT :esmirk:
I don’t get webspace but I get a gig or so of network storage (accessible from on campus)
Try experimenting with large media sites on 6mb’s. Pretty much forget sound, hi-res images, video. The whole nine.
Public Schools:{
I pretty much started practicing flash becuase its so light-weight.
Didn’t know UAlb had it that bad, I’m taking summer courses there this year.
Good luck.
We don’t get any :lol: We have to pay a freaking 15% tax for all purchases and the government wastes it on drugs and useless crap that even I could have a better use for with just $10, which is exactly how much a month of hosting costs.
488MB for us here at Purdue University.
I think I get some more on a different server which is dedicated to my specific school (school of electrical and computer engineering), but I’m not sure how much space we get on that.
Is that just an arbitrary number? Or is there some reasoning behind it?
488 = 2^3 * 61
hahahahah
488MB = 512,000,000 bytes
edit: hm, not exactly. I think we’re actually supposed to get 500MB.
That’s retarded lol.
:lol:
To me it happenned the same as jerez lol
I get a whopping nothing at the Art Institute of Seattle. However I do get the benefit of paying for my own internet connection because they won’t get it for us in the dorms. Pretty cool!
Isn’t that bad?
Mmmhmm! Sarcasm my friend.
:lol: with 15-60 grand a year, they don’t even throw in free hosting
I’ve got an unlimited account on one of the csc servers. Someone was storing like 4000 mp3’s on it once and they didn’t care lol.
Only problem is they give you an ugly url:(
