^ Some of it is unwarranted, that’s true, but most of it is warranted because their just a bunch of spammers like this guy. When you see people trying to (Overtly or covertly) get more links to their site over and over again, it gets old real fast.
There’s a difference between showcasing and self-promoting. This is definitely the latter.
Site is thick as English fudge btw. Flash sites shouldn’t take 35 seconds to load up front on DSL.

There was no intention to spam. however, i can see how that last message was regarded as spam. fair enough. It is a showcase thread and there was indeed a genuine intention to showcase our properties.
Regarding the last post, the reason i posted here was because i didn’t want to start a new thread. Seemed inappropriate. I also thought that there were a lot of designers here who could use the chance to collaborate with us on what we are doing with hardboiled magazine. There was never any intention for it to be regarded as spam.
It was a genuine call to designers and like minded individuals to showcase their work. Growing up, i have never had opportunities like this where someone like Hardboiled Magazine gives us a chance to collaborate and for a good cause. Hardboiled Magazine is creative social revolution. do this revolution with us!

Where do you draw the line between showcasing and spamming? I mean he does have a design oriented flash site, he wants us to see it, it’s in the right section, showcase and critiques.
I don’t see him as doing anything wrong at all, it’s not like he’s posting links to viagra sites.

For a start, cut this marketing BS. Why are people attacking your post? Easy, no one ever struts in here and announces their own victory. There’s a respected term in these forums called “modesty.” You people are all the same, you read the same marketing strategy books and try to “communicate” with your “target audience” by participating in spaces like this that are completely alien to you. If you had an ounce of a clue, you’ll realize you just stepped into a hornets nest of competitive Flash developers who couldn’t care less if you were the queen of Egypt in a bikini. Next time you try to bipass Kirupa’s banner system(if there even is one) to dump your marketing refuse on us, try using tact and approach us with a question/request to review the work. Proceed and I have more than enough scathing remarks to share with you and to be enjoyed by all in this forum.
