Hi! I THINK this is actionscripting, if it isnt can someone please direct me to where to post this again?
I havent made a Flash movie in a few months and was surfing the net seeing what’s new and also trying to get some new ideas. I came upon this menu at a website and have since been searching for how in the heck did they do two things in it. 1) They made the text animate like it was someone writing it (Ive seen other Flash movies do this but i figured out in those that the person took the easy way out and just inserted an animated gif, which made the movie huge in size and i dont want to do it the ‘easy’ way!) and also the menu itself is some sort of combination of mouserollovers and such. Can anyone, after checking it out, tell me just what the heck would be involved in these two things, or if there were any tutorials to help me out (believe me, ive been searching!)? The link (menu at top):
Thanks for any help at all, it would be MUCH appreciated!!

I was thinking that it MIGHT have been a masking effect, thanks very much! Now to find a good tutorial on that to refresh my memory on how to do it again!
Oh! Duh, sorry and ive even made buttons with movie clips in prior times too! Gosh, ive only not done Flash for only a few short months, did some advanced stuff with ease then and i feel like such a newbie again! Thank goodness for tutorials, i just gotta find the right ones ! Take care and thanks so much!!

unlock the mask layer, and look frame by frame.
You´ll notice that the visible portion of the content on the txt layer is exactly what is behind the green fill on the mask layer.
Mask layers works that way, whichever layers is nested below is kept invisible, except what is behind the fill on the mask layer, if there is nothing on the mask layer then nothing will be visible.
