I’m so angry about this situation that I feel compelled to write about it just to kind of get it off my chest.
I got a call from my brother today. He is 22 years old and works as a pizza delivery person for a small town pizza place where we both grew up. Nothing big ever happens in our small town. To my knowledge there has only been one murder in the last ten years. Anyway this call I get from my brother… He says that he had a crazy night last night. I can tell from the tone in his voice that he is shaken.
He tells me that he delivered a pizza last night to a house that he had delivered to before. When he pulled away from the house a car pulled out of the neighbors drive way at the same time and got in front of him. They both drove down the road. The car in front of him was driving fairly slow, and has he got behind them they put on their breaks then put on their hazard lights and pulled over. My brother being the friendly helpfull persn he is pulls up beside them and rolls down his passenger side window. The passenger of the car gets out and starts yelling “we need help, we need help” at this point my brother says this guy is running around the car to get to his. He senses something is wrong and puts his car in gear and drives away. As he looks back in his rear view mirror to see what they are doing he hears “POP…POP POP POP” His back window shatters. These people fired 7 shots into his car. One bullet was pulled from the console and one from the passenger side head rest. So close…
Come to find out when these people were arrested early this morning the person that ordered the pizza actually set up my brother for the two people that were in the car. I have been sitting here shaking thinking about this all day. What did these people have in mind? Were they going to kill him and take maybe $100 from him at the most, then split it between 3 people? What has the world come to when people are getting shot up for 100 bucks in the middle of small town Indiana? It just sickens me.
