You Brits never seem to amaze me:

You actually name a cooking aparatus “SMEG” …
That has to be the grossest name for anything even related to food that there ever was…

Oh yeah b4 I moved to the US I had a Smeg Fridge! Very COOL!! [No pun intended]
as far as I know, the word SMEG is short for a real disgusting fluid that comes out of the body…
I guess it could be a family name…
Rev

I always wanted one of those freezers. And an oven. Just so I could own something with the word ‘smeg’ on the front of it.
I was at a Dr’s office yesterday, and saw an ad for a SMEG stove…
I cracked up (got all kinds of weird looks from the crowd)…
Rev
It’s such a wonderful word though…
“SMEG”…
I’m thinking warcraft III now…
Rev,
I’ve never heard Smeg used as a short for Smegma.
But people do cross cultural blunders all the time, like the chevy Nova which means No Go in spanish.
It’s hard to check every language and it’s slang terms before you name something. So you have to forgive the brits for naming a fridge and stove after sweaty ballsacks.
my 2 cents.
Smegma isn’t sweaty ballsacks!
