AI tools keep getting better at removing tiny delays from everyday work, and that part is genuinely nice. But I keep wondering whether some of those pauses were doing useful work — giving people a second to notice a bad assumption or a weird edge case.
Has anyone found a place where the friction was actually helping, and the faster version made the work a little worse?
