Hey everyone,
It’s been at least a day since I’ve had a problem. So goody, I’m back with more!
About 2 days ago my computer just quit recognizing the wireless signal from my wireless (g - just like the modem) router. The thing is, the other wireless computer in our house has no problem picking up the signal. So it’s obviously some problem with my computer. I have an internal wireless doo-dad, it just ceased to work out of no where.
If anyone has any idea where to start to fix this problem, please let me know.
I reinstalled the router software, I wouldn’t know how to get the drivers for the wireless modem. I’ll search around a bit for them though, good idea. Thanks =)
Naw, no radios or microwaves or anything else that would interfere with the signal.
Does anyone know a good website to get drivers from? I’m having a bit of a problem finding anything.
I have a brodcom 54g maxperformance 802.11g modem, and I have a belkin something or other wireless g router. I’m doing all the windows updates to see if they find anything helpful for me, though I doubt it will.
I also tried a google search with not much luck.
Actually I found the driver apparently and am downloading it now. Thanks for your help.
If this doesn’t solve the problem I’m sure I’ll be back with plenty more questions.
So I got the driver and it’s all installed and working fine, except it still won’t recognize a network. It just says networks unavailable or something, obviously there’s some setting or something somewhere for the way it finds networks that I need to change.
Argh, this is so annoying.
Ok well this is what mine has under wireless network properties…
In network connections, right click on wireless network then go to properties…under the general tab does it say “Connect Using:” and thhen has ur wireless card listed. Next is TCP/IP checked. Umm im just shooting random stuff out… umm is there a wireless encryption?
If you’re using XP, it’s a bit of a hassle. If yours is 2.4Ghz wireless, make sure nobody is using a 2.4Ghz phone in the house, or even better, if you can, change the channel to avoid that problem. In Windows XP, on the client side, right click the little connection icon and click on View Avaliable Connections, select yours there and if you have any encryption, more power to you.
