Woah, that sucks… but now that I think about it, I don’t think they’ve ever made a game that I enjoyed. But still they are a well known company.
Oh - they also did Turok. I noticed on their Support page that they did do the first two Mortal Kombat series. I guess another company such as EA, Activision, etc. would end up buying them or the rights to their games 
I remember them from back in the Amega500 days.

Contra rocked my socks. Now they’re ('ve?) come out with new Contra that’s gonna be total crap.
A few months back they sold the rights to almost all of their big titles and series. This was being predicted for a quite some time now. Kinda sucks, someone should just email them a couple billion dollars.

Yeah, Contra was made by Konami, not Acclaim.
The only real venerable game Acclaim made (or at least published/ported) was the Mortal Kombat series. Other than that, I can’t really name any other game they made. :-/

Great game… I hope that EA… that will probally take them over will keep these good titles alive.
Seeing as we’re using different ip’s, i’d imagine it would be difficult for us to be the same person. I’m not exactly a newcomer though, I registered a decent while ago but I haven’t bothered to post a lot for fear of being one of those post count mongers.
