I’m looking for a good paint program and want to get peoples input before I shell out my money. Any suggestions?
Depends on what you want to do with it. Photoshop is the generally accepted standard, but Illustrator is proving better for vector based line art like mine… http://kitiara.deviantart.com

i thought i was the only one who even owned a copy of that…
edwin also uses Corel Painter i think… they do very nice brushes…
Edwin uses Painter, Photoshop and 3D Max.
I use Photoshop, I love it. But I am really looking into getting Illustrator.
For Vector work go with Illustrator, Fireworks or Freehand.
For Raster work I recommend Photoshop, and if you use a Wacom drawing tablet then I recommend Painter.
Just my two cents is all.

I use PSP7 and Fireworks MX, but for value for money i’d go for PSP…
