FYI:

Colin Moock and O’Reilly have released a pocket-sized companion to “ActionScript
for Flash MX: The Definitive Guide” (ASDG2).

The new book is called “ActionScript for Flash MX Pocket Reference” (ASPR). It
is great for people who don’t want to buy two copies of ASDG2 for home and
office. Or you can buy extras to give office-mates who always borrow your copy
of ASDG2. It is also great for travel, when ASDG2 won’t fit in your suitcase.

ASPR debuted at FlashForward last week in San Francisco, and it was tremendously
popular with attendees. We sold dozens of copies right on the spot. (BTW, it was
great meeting those of you who stopped by the O’Reilly booth.)

Bonafide reviewers and instructors should contact me to obtain a review copy.
For those of you who already have it, please post your honest feedback on
Amazon.com or the web site of your choice.

Here is the announcement that Colin made on his “moock-updates” mailing list:

>meet aspr, the asdg2 that fits in your back pocket:
>
>here’s the table of contents:
>
>like asdg2, aspr is split into two sections:
>1) a summary of the core language and common flash programming techniques
>2) a quick-reference description of actionscript’s built-in classes,
>objects, global properties, and global functions
>
>at US$12.95 ($10.36 on Amazon), it’s great for travelling, easy to flip
through, has some interesting new sections, and offers a no-nonsense
introduction to actionscript that is perfect for experienced programmers who
need to get into flash.
