Bullfighting, what do you think?

Bullfighting…

honourable, good entertainment or barbaric

what do you think

Barbaric

In my opinion, it is cruel to poke a bull with a knife or whatever to make it be more violent. It is simply a form of animal cruelty that people pay to witness.

With that said, my view on this is a bit inconsistent. I somehow find it ok to eat a hamburger now and then but, at the same time, condemn bull fighting :ogre:

I love corridas and ferias.
You see a corrida full of freaks chanting “Ole” while the half-ton bull tries to ram the toreros, and suddenly, this sport becomes gut-clenching and beautiful…
I can see why some don’t like this sport, but it’s no worse than, say, dwarf-throwing…

I’ve seen it before and actually enjoyed it however felt a bit uncomfortable with the slaughter of the bull. I happen to think that if the bull were replaced by a more dangerous and movable animal then the tables would be turned and we could get to see a fair sport cause at the moment the bull is dangerous but not the most moveable animal and is therfore no match for the matador.

However what if it were bear fighting

One of my ambitions though is to take part in the bull run through the streets (sorry forgot the name of the town just now) and obviously the tomato fight festival in spain too.

my general perception about bullfighting is that the matadors can’t wait to be violated by a bull horn up their ***. that’s just me though.

Seems a little unfair to poke the bull’s neck full of holes so he’ll be weakened, not allowing him to toss his head around like he normally would. Reminds me of Tonya Harding having Nancy Kerrigan’s knee busted with a pipe so she wouldn’t be able to skate well.

I respect that its a cultural thing.

Just not my culture. You wont find me turning on sports center to see how long it too El Stabby to drop his last opponent.

I find it very cruel yet I love movies where humans are mutilated, smashed, beaten, burn-a-nated etc.

I realy dont have a leg to stand on here :beam:

Barbaric

The bulls suffering is just part of it - You want to find out what they do to the horses!!

If any of the above supporters of the “spectacle” (I won’t call it a sport) are happy with the poor animals (horses) vocal chords being cut so they can’t scream when the bull charges then book your season ticket now.

But then I’ am English.

I too think it’s a bit barbaric, and really a very stupid sport.
