Build. Cheap, very powerful, something to be proud of!
redViper… GO to alienWare and measure there… LOok at what your buying and building and compare to what they will build… Then you’ll see the price difference…
553 dolalrs for a new computer so far? ****… That’s nothing… $1000 for a brand new NICE computer is an AWESOME price!
The thing is, I dont want to spend 1000 bucks on a computer. im a little student. lol.
The most is 600…
I dont think im buying anything now… I have a fairly new computer I use… so I dont think I need to buy a new one.
Are their any online guides of EXACTLY what to buy and how to get it together. Like which parts go with which parts and stuff. Like memory graphics cards and whatever. I want to build my own but I have no clue.
I dont know if anyone mentioned this or not (or if it was part of the original post) but I think Dell is offering some discounts and deals from like 11/11 to 11/19 with like free hard drives, free ram, and free shipping. Might be worth looking into.
I would build your own… Look at the top alienware comps and you can build one for far cheaper…
Yeah Dan… There are places you can go. Usually when you buy a case or anything like that… You’ll get availibilities and everything like that…
Like… An Antec Case you can get micro or standard… And some motherboards are built for the micro in mind and some are built for standard… And then, the motherboards can only take certain memory modules and some can only take certain set ups… Most of the time you can find the individual documentation on the net about these…
Each part almost comes with documentation on what it can go into and what it can’t… It really is very easy to build a computer.
Are their any online site’s that have tutorials on building your own computer?
Like:
- Go buy a mother board.
[]Options 1
[]Options 2

Options 3
- Go buy cooling fan.
You need this kind of case…you need SDRAM not DDR for this mother board. Stuff like that.
Ect.
The average person will not be able to build what alienware provides. If my HD drops. They send me a new one next day mail I send them my old one and they recover my data. Also the offer insurance. Plus I doubt anyone can build something that looks this cool. But since he is a student and does not need the power he should go Dell. A student has bigger things to worry about than building and fixing a computer. You can get a nice dell for around your price range with the special Sen said. Go Dell.
Eh… Dell’s aren’t bad… But their TEch Support is a *****!
Honestly… Even if you are a business owner… it’s still a *****…
And Dan… There probably are sites out there… But they’d have to update their things nearly every single day with new specs of new motherboards and all that stuff… If you are really interested in building a new computer I can help you out with a lsit of specs and stuff.
Would be great if you helped me out.
I want to get a motherboard first and I want it to be able to support up to 2GB of DDR and at least a P4 2.8 Ghtz. Should I get one that is already equiped. Like with the colling fan, heat sink, and everying.
Allright… Do you have Yahoo or MSN or anything like that?
It might be easier to handle this through MEssenger… So I can get a complete description of all your needs and everything bud…
My info is playamarz at yahoo, mentalconcepts@hotmail.com at MSN and SupaMarMar at AIM…
Yes I know I put my hotmail on this for the spybots… Doesn’t matter, I use that as my spam account anyways… hehe
I’ll be in the office later tonight then
I can’t at the moment, company proxy

Ships to canada. get a video card from best buy, and I’m sure you can find a better deal on the cdr/rw at best buy too (got my lite on 52x32x52 for $20 with a deal.) You can probably find some cheaper ram at best buy too with a deal. Built is sound card is 6 channel on the mobo, it also has built in ethernet, 4 firewire ports, 6 usb ports. You won’t get anywhere with 256 mb of ram that you’ll get from dell. you can find awesome deals on hard drives from best buy special offers too. look around man, the stuff is out there and it is cheap.
telekinesis - I think you can probably find video tutorials on how to put together a computer (http://www.hardwaretech.info/tutorials/system_assembly.php thats one I found on google from a search, don’t know how good it is.) Once you do it, you’ll see just how easy it is. You’ll also want to shoot yourself if you ever gave best buy $50 to put in a stick of ram =D It’s really a great skill to have, you’ll get people asking you to help them all the time, it can be very lucrative
