The intro is actually old. It was a random intro i made when i was bored, so when i created my flash portfolio i decided to keep it(Because I’m a lazy bastard :shifty:).
So when you’re on the page there are some stuff that I’m very proud over. The text on Home and Bio loads from external files, no idea if that’s very common for flash pages… still it’s very useful for me. My gallery is a set of pictures I’ve made, also loads everything external, pictures, title and description. The flash page is the only thing I’m not proud over, because it’s ugly. Still, there I’ve got some of my old flash movies and my current project that’s going to make my flash portfolio even more handy, the Window duplicator.
Window duplicator information:
My current project I’m working on. It detects and loads external .txt files containing information such as title, description and download url, and then also adds the information into a new window. This I’m going to include on Downloads, Projects and Affiliates.
i like it, but try put in more color and some transitions. Also u might wanna make some custom scroll bars cuz those default ones made in flash have no creativity to them and they are just plain. If you want to stick to it, i suggest you check out the tutorials in kirupa on skining the scrollbars.
i like the overall design
Due to some idiotic bugs with flash and html, you have to open the swf files from an ugly html page
:lol: I’m afraid there are no such bugs. You should either play them in a container on that page, or each embed each swf on a popup html page. The latter might be inconvenient for viewers however.
Hello, it’s looking OK so far
Some things I noticed -
The intro went on slightly little too long (probably just felt that way because there wasn’t much variation in that cloud effect though) but you can skip it so…
Maybe add a drop-shadow around the outer edge to make it look a little less flat on the page.
When viewing your Gallery/Photoshop work you can go forward but can’t go back to view something again. If you plan to put alot more work in there it’d be best to have that freedom.
It’s probably awkward displaying flash within flash (I’ve not tried it yet) but it’d be worth it to figure this out if you want to display your flash work. Maybe loading them into a blank movieclip externally? I don’t know, there are probably tutotorials on this site though ^^;
Heh yeah the intro is a bit too long, but you soulda seen it before. My friends complained everyday about it so i made it a bit shorter
And well, the cloud effect should be very random, the clouds are particles.
