start presenting yourself as a professional now, Alex… It does pay off eventually… just have patience young Jedi…

Life is indeed short, but it is even shorter when rushed through…

good point. i am going to start to do that because it will pay of eventually. hopefully. but as for right now, i am still learning the basics of Flash, so mabye when i get a little better, who knows. but i hope it all works out for me.

:goatee:

it will. Just don’t try to go too fast, too soon. The better your foundation, the more consistent your income will be. If you only know a small portion, but know it well, you can get and keep a client. However, if you have a solid base to work from, there isn’t really a prog they can throw at you (within reason) that you can’t figure out with a few tutorials…

A big thing is to show current work on the web. A way to get this, is to do free sites for friends, their bands, your chess club, your Mom’s collection of Beanie Babies, etc. Then when the oportunity for a paying gig does come up, you already have the portfolio to get the gig. Also, get a contract you like ready to go. Even start having your friends sign the contract (for $0), and get them to sign off of everything as it is created.

This will prepare you for when you have to go up against guys like me who have been doing this forever… After a certain point, experience means little…

Rev

With that attitude, you’ll be on your way Alex. I’m still learning as well and still have a long way till I reach Rev’s level.

How’s that for sucking up huh Rev?! =)
