Critique of new site please

Hi,

I started to flesh out what I would like my next portfolio site to look like. It’s pretty much like nothing I’ve done before.

Also, I realize there’s no menu yet, it will be placed at the top of the box when I put one in. And these images are shrunk to 80-90% of their size.

Please give me your input on this. It would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like it. I think it will showcase your talents well to use illustrational images and flash. Also will make it feel very personal.

This is a fun one… I like it… pretty original IMO. My only problem is the section headers… they are sorta just there… maybe make the boxes into some fun picture frames hanging on the wall? This will be a fun site when done… good luck

Thanks for the comments Ethan and Simplistik,

My original idea for the headers is for the boxes to drop in from the top and the letters might fade in on top of the boxes. BUT, I do like the picture frame idea because I plan on having the thumbnails for my images pieces of paper tacked to the walls. The picture frame would probably go along better with the paper idea.

Pretty smart!
The wall paper idea really steps out from the norm and its simplicity catches the eye.
Good Job!

I added the picture frames on all of the pages, GREAT idea by the way! And I added the papers on the wall where the thumbnails will go so you get an idea of how it’s going to look. Should the pieces of paper be smaller though so I can add more later or should I add a second page of thumbnails or use a scrollbar? I’m kind of torn between the two ideas because they both have pros and cons. The new image attached is 80% actual size.

I was originally going to put my menu up top above the picture frames but now I’m not so sure. I don’t think I’ve left myself enough space there, should it go on the side or by the drawing of the kid? I think I’m kind of pigeonholing myself into something.

Any suggestions would help for the menu, thanks!
