First off, its Friday! Yay! On top of that, I got off work at a normal time unlike 8 or 9pm like I have been recently. And from work I was able to bring home a kick-arse book, Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life - an absolutely HUGE book going through all kinds of characters and animations and almost everything imaginable in terms of cartoons and disney. Very cool.
Then I went to the bank and paid off my car… fully. Mmmm that felt nice. Afterwords I headed to town, listening to the sweet sounds of Finch on the way (thank you xxviii). My intentions: rent Donnie Darko, get dinner, go home. So I arrive to the blockbuster. No bones. I cant find it anywhere. Oh piss. So I go next door and buy it at the local Record and Tape traders So then I was like, what the hey, and got Fight Club on DVD too. Besides, it was on my DVDs-to-get list and I thought I owed it to myself since, after all, having just paid off my car, its not like I have money to spend. Plus Fight club has like 3 or 4 commentaries with it and as of now, Im addicted to audio commentaries. I usually wont buy a DVD unless it has one (it would have to be a darn fine movie for me to do so otherwise). In the process of these purchased I talked to 2 complete random strangers about 2 other DVDs (Willow and Spirited Away) which was also fun - both very cool people and not afraid of me - also a complete stranger, and the one who instigated the conversations and seemed to have plenty to say about his opinion of the DVD in question. Top that off with a carton of Oreos and Im set!
But wait! I didn’t get dinner yet! Hmmm… where to go? Arbys! Score! I dont know what it is, but that roast beef is just mm mmmm mmm (you vegemateriums are missing out). So there I was, driving home with a roast beef sandwich in my mouth, finishing off the Finch album with 2 fine movies and a big bag of Oreos next to me. Life is good.
well, im glad your night was good. Mine was horriable, i went to go see Anger Management, and you know the drink, its called ice’es (SP). Then i thought it was done so i started peeling off the lable. then it started to drip on my pants, (which i didnt know) twards the end of the movie, i found out, so i though everyone would see, so i took of my sweat shirt, and i covered it. Guess where it was dripping to…
… so I watched Donnie Darko. weeeeird. Cant say its quite up there with my favorites, but it was still pretty cool. It gets special props for the nice insertion of Tears for Fears, Jena Malone and the Hobie and Triumph shirts. :beam:
