I’ve had a Canon Powershot G3 for about 3-4 years now and while still in top condition and one of the best camera i have ever owned I’ve been thinking about trading it in or selling it for something newer. It’s not that its not working but it’s depreciated quite alot now so i thought before it gets even more cheaper i should get rid of it soon.
Now what I’m thinking about getting is either the newest Canon G6 (7.1mp) or going a different route to the Powershot S3 IS (6.0mp). The sucky thing is, is that the Canon Powershot G6 is the last of the G series. That majorly sucks since the G series was the inbetween a full slr digital and a auto digi and since its been phased out that will make it depreciate quite quickly.
its looking pretty nice, but I havent had any experience with this series or know anyone with it, so any one used this series? or got any other recommendations?
Pretty sure you can get a low-end digital SLR for around AU$800-$900. I think they’re rather leet And everything else aside, they make that cool ‘clicky-clacky’ shutter sound
well basically, like i said im looking for something to replace my powershotG3, something similar to that but newer, or otherwise something that can produce similar photos or better.
Hello my friend… It’s been a while!
Call me crazy, but I am hooked on Sony cameras.
I have been shooting semi-pro with an F828 for a while now, and I absolutely love it. The folks I shoot with carry Nikon’s top shelf stuff, and get really ticked when I produce imagery as clean as theirs.
On the down side, If you like shooting in RAW or TIFF, the F828 may let you down. It is fairly slow in processing these formats.
hey jay-em , yeah the newer camera I buy will have to include a good raw since i already have that in my G3, and getting into the whole camera raw deal with photoshop/bridge, so would like a camera to have that as a strong point, dosent have to be top notch but better than the G3. I will check out the sony though, even though im a sucka for canon and their lens, cheers dude.
