Well, I believe you are abled to do a page that is better than the the actual (rip) come on give it a try.
from your footer I guess you are good with photoshop. so how about doing a ps-flash site with focus on ps. Or try some experimental design.

mailed the owner of the original he is sorry,
posted here that he is sorry,
recieved a very evil e-mail from the owner,
is planning to create a new page,

Blast, we all see cool designs a weaken but I just open my web designerās bible and read the commandment āThou shall not Ripā and it comforts me.
Personally I could never rip. After I plug it or show it to people it just doesnāt have the same effect when someone says āHey you really did a good job on thatā, when you make it yourself you have some sort of satisfaction that the user has commented on a design you worked hard on and thought, design, and color schemed yourself. It just has some sort of fame when someone like a design you made vs one you stole, in my opinion.
Sorry to hear you ripped. 
Hope you donāt do it again, it only leads to ripping more and just losing all your design skills over stealing from others.

Mate, there are lots of rippers out there. You for one, arenāt. The good thing you did was coming clean. Now if you hadnāt done that, I would post it in the copycatz forum at Ultrashockā¦
So, you should get over the fact that you ripped it. Seriously, there are tons and tons of us who ripped other sites, usually without knowing it, sometimes knowing it. I remember when 247media made a site that looked similar to widegroup.net. There was lots of controversy but he owned up and they replied in the same way. Heās not crying over it. Heās still making kick @** designs that rock. Heās still the same guy.
I had a conversation with the president of teknision.com and he said that the best way to get rid of a designers block is to remake somebody elseās site. Unless until you have used a decompiler. I used to use a decompiler to understand flashlevelās creation a whole lot more. Then, when I started using it as a weapon to rip sites rather than using it as a learning tool, I uninstalled it.
You need to get over it. Seriously, you really need to design a site of your own. I recommend using PS and make something original of your own. Actually, youāll notice no matter what you make it has actually ripped a part of another site. You canāt really do anything about that. You will always see something like that.
Judging by your PS skills, you should check out 247mediaās website for some inspiration as those guys are some really hardcore PSāers too.
Just forget about the rip thing. Itāll keep on bugging you.
BTW, while weāre on the ripping topic, anyone want the source code of 8edge.comās intro?
