First go at Grunge

I know I know. Most people here think grunge is just crap. But personally I love it as a design style, I think it has some great potential.
With that being said I’ve begun to construct my portfolio with a “grungish” look to it. ANd would like to post it for review. There are two pages of the site up and I would like some constructive critisicm on them

http://www.admiralskeet.com/index.htm <–“splash” and I use that term loosely page

http://www.admiralskeet.com/index2.htm <—“home” page.

Also any suggestion for possibel content ofr the home page would be a great help

thanks so much!

The splash is really nice. Good one.

I like the page too, but maybe you should do kind of a border on the sides of the menu, looks so cutted…
Otherwise, sweet

i like, but the cursive font used for the “enter” and “admiralskeet” text doesn’t fit well with your grunge theme, it looks out of place.

also, i’d incorporate an enter button near the car on the splash page, since the current enter button is positioned oddly to the right.

looks pretty good

i would agree with liam about the placement of the enter button on the splash page. closer to the text and then center the whole thing and it will look very tight.

i kinda like the scriptive font though, maybe if the font border was made a little more “grunge” it would fit better?

I like the theme of the site…layout may not be original but it’s cool…

Hi…

I really like the site, it definately looks cool, here are points that in my opinion u could improve upon…

  1. The title admiralskeet.com - the font doesn’t fit in as liam pointed out…

  2. i feel the buttons mouseover effect is too heavy, maybe tone it down a little by about 20% or so…

Other than that, it does look pretty static, I would love to see that theme in a more “fluid state”…

But yea overall, i guess just more content is needed, it does look pretty deserted right now…

The only thing that was interesting to me was the top portion of the site, the brownish design is interesting. Too bad the rest of the site doesn’t have that kind of feel.

There isn’t much to critique on, but I do like what’s there so far in terms of usability. I thought it’s easy to navigate which is good.

I agree with elektrongreek.

Make your screenshot more “zoomed” in for better feel of it… and one silly thing of me: get rid of the blue numberplate of the car!
