For Anyone That's Interested

hmmmm

that sound a bit queer to me:-\

careful Guigo…

I smell a trout slapping coming on…

Rev

puts up a anti-trout slapping shield…

I’m almost done with my entry… Gotta put the finishing touches on it before I scan it…

Peace

I have drawn, and re-drawn my entry 20 times. I want it to be perfect. It looks nothing like what anyone has showed so far. There is a dragon in it, actually 3 or 4 dragons… and a ‘knight’ as well…but its a bit unorthodox… well, we’ll have to see…I won’t be posting until the deadline because I won’t be able to actually get to work on it with the computer until then…

Well here’s my updated one. I’ve put a background on it, but I don’t think I’m going to have time to draw a knight as well. I’ll see what I can do…

Kit, the knight is in his stomach, thats your excuse

Good work :beam:

Good point, well made.

I was just about to say that myself. ahem That’s why the dragon is grinning.

Of course, I could always say that Sir Phil is the dragon…

btw, Kit, I don’t have a print screen button on this laptop keyboard ( maybe because its a Mac ) so I couldn’t try your idea yesterday. thx for suggestion tho.

ribcage: in flash mx, just go to file, export image, and select jpg or gif from the “save as type” menu…

appreciate the help , will submit a jpeg in a few.
this site rocks hard , all you guys are awesome.

Happy New Year Guys!!!

no problem

here it is in jpeg form, don’t know if this is the best format.

Thanx again to vip3r, for the info.

very nice rib but its shaded through alot of it and you should focus on not shading other than that nice pic

wow rib nice work…everyone is so good at drawing…

;( < — i feel like how this smiley looks :hair: or maybe thats me old and balding…cept i’m not that old…only 72

this was my first vector art ,I followed kit’s tutorial which was very helpful.

I kinda liked the shading hatebreed, I thought it gave the image depth.
could be wrong , I may have overworked the effects.

Flash turned out to be a very capable drawing app, looking forward to the other submissions.

peace=)

…I think to view art clearly use link in previous post.

The png file is too large for submission, hopefully the link is suitable for final
submission. Otherwise I could email the image to forum if moderators
accept.

It’s certainly my preferred medium. I tried drawing some line art in Photoshop, but just couldn’t get it to do what I wanted. Flash doesn’t have the range of special effects and tools that Photoshop does, but for my particular style of art, that’s a good thing.

…your work Kit is , you dont keep the stroke in your art. you rely on the tones to give your stuff volume. I am such a pencil to paper guy I can’t let go of the outlines ( my own little security blanket ). afraid to leave the sketch behind I guess.
Thx for putting the tute together, never used flash like that before.

…Design & drawing in regards to the definition of line art.
I was not aware of the gradient fill being a nono. I figured that the
limitation of the battle was solely Flash ( gradients and alpha levels included)
with that said I don’t mind forfeiting my art , wish you would have posted that last week. had fun with the dragon stuff though, so no big loss.

Thanks for the compliment.

I did try leaving the outlines in when I first started, but they just seemed to dominate the picture… I submitted one to deviantART. This is the link to it : deviantART Submission.

I wasn’t too keen on it with the lines in, but maybe that’s just me. If I thinned them down to .25 stroke then it looked better. But occasionally I need them, as I always draw on a white background, and sometimes the picture blends in. I suck at backgrounds, you see.
