Has anyone else noticed the new direction that Kirupa.com has been heading in...?

I noticed a while ago, and I’m sure everyone else did as well. Kirupa.com is becoming a one-stop shop. More and more people are posting their PHP, HTML, Javascript, etc problems in the Server-Side Scripting forum. The Design & Draw forum is very popular, and gaining everyday. It seems to me that Kirupa.com has grown from being mainly a Flash reference site, into a complete web reference site.

I dunno why I posted this…but I was just thinking about it a little while ago…and I was wondering what you all thought about it…

Cheers,
Jubs

You’re right!
When I came here the first time it was mainly only flash but now everybody is posting their art in the Drawing&Design help (<-lol) forum!
This place is growing!
All we have to do is Keep up the good work!

well hey! good! we must be doing something right here, and kirupa must be doing something right on the main site, all to keep ppl coming back. but i dont think this is a bad thing at all.

hey, super. maybe we’ll eventually become a streamline flash site like flashkit or something.

yeah, I noticed that as well =) Of course, this couldn’t be done without all of you “conversationalizing” and helping. It is only natural that this site will move away from Flash and into other design areas because many of you are quite skilled in many non-Flash related programs and stuff!

Cheers!
Kirupa :ub:

Hey Jubba, what are you throughts on this? Not sure if you posted this because you liked the forum before or if you like that it is covering everything now.

well, i remeber back in Jul. when i first started coming here. if i remeber right, the only 3 really ACTIVE parts of the forum were the flash(s), Tuts, and every now and then the Random. D&D was totaly dead. i like it now, i think cause i know the ppl so well.

We have Eilsoe to thank for kicking up the D&D again, and both Eilsoe and Edwin kept it going until other people submitted their stuff.

I remember people telling me that there should be a section where people could submit their stuff to show people…lol. Apparently the D&D section used to be invisible too.

well, there should be a forum like that. you know? well now that i think about it, it is the test forum. but no one posts there so… we should try to kick that one up. But if it werent for Edwin and E for keeping the D&D alive i most likely wouldnt be here…thanks guys.

You need so submit more of your work in there mdipi! :beam:

I will be as soon as I create something new…lol. I am going to get back to work on my mr wong pixel aparment soon, so time to revive that thread in there

i was just on it today! :stuck_out_tongue: lol. i needed to see how you got hte shine on your windows, :P.its near the end. i need to work more, i suppose i can post some of my MAX stuff…

yea, we need to be be getting more people in there, its getitng boring just seeing a few people post work:C:-)

Yep, I just posted something new in there…lol.

excellent work man
right now im working with one of the team photoshop tutorials to make a real pic look abstract
hope it comes out good
ill post if its decent

Cool, can’t wait.

Back on topic.

I like that this forum has multiple types of sections. I am just starting to get into PHP so I am glad that I have a spot to post any questions I may need on it. And the D&D forum is a cool place to hang out (as well as Random).

Lost: I like the fact that everything is coming together and that the Forums are moving away from being only Flash, and becoming something more. I’ve been with the forums for about a year now, I think I joined ezBoard in early January, so its about a year. And it was strictly Flash and Random sections and that was about it. Then when the new forums opened up there was an influx of people with different skills and interests. Which is good because it opens all of us to different things. I doubt I would have ever gotten into using PHP if the Server-Side Scripting forum hadn’t recieved so much attention. I also wouldn’t have gotten back into my art ‘stuff’ if the D&D section wasn’t so popular. I think its great. I was just commenting on the change from what it was…to what it is…to what it is becoming.

thats what made me stay :beam:

im not sure if i agree completely with
your opinion jubba… even though it is gaining momentum in the direction of being a complete web resource its still a long way lewft to go… take a look at www.tutorialforums.com to see what i mean. but except from that… these forums has been a major resource for me…

well what can i say… h88 told me about this site… and i pretty much liked it… nice layout, nice content and members who pretty well know their stuff:beam:
whats weird is that i’m registered on so many forums, and there always are familiar faces i see among all forums, except in here:!: lol… hey… i didnt say its a bad thing=)

cheers

"- Oh, my husband is in business, what does yours do?

  • He kirupas for some internet company"

Macromedia!!! the leading company in Kiruping”

“Wanted: a knowledgable Kirupa in design”
