Help me fix my hate handles

I know a few of you guys are all about the eating healthy thing and exercising and what not.

Since I’ve moved from Seattle where I walked all over the place on lots of hills and stuff my gut has decided to expand, despite eating quite a bit healthier.

My goal is to do a bit of cardio every day, I’m going to try to ride my bike to and from work as often as possible, though it’s only about three miles each way. I’ll do more when I have time though. I’ll lift weights as often as possible though if I get to it once a week I’ll be surprised.

Anyway, I just want to eat right so I get rid of this gut deal. I need some ideas that are fairly inexpensive and not overly difficult to get together. Right now I eat a lot of chicken and turkey and such, not too much beef and pork maybe once a month in the form of a piece of bacon I don’t notice on something. I’m not abundantly picky so I’ll eat most things.

Anywhoooo any ideas would be awesome. I’m not the brightest on this kind of thing. I’m not necessarily looking to lose weight, more get rid of a few pounds but eat right so that I can lean up and build a little muscle, so I’m looking more to sustain healthy weight, rather than lose weight in the conventional sense. I’m not that chubby yet.
