I am trying to model a tiny little scene in 3ds max thats got paintballs on the floor. The paintballs don’t look quite real, but i dunno why. Any suggestions?
hmm, they look ok but something deff is missing…could it be the shaddows? i really dont know…
yup, I think that the shadows are too fuzzy for such a small object…
Rev
shadows are an as$. thanks for the help guys, ill try messing with the shadows.
hmm, are you gonna texture them too? that might help them a bit.
I think that the problem is: the shadows on the balls are too dark… have you got some light source that only applies to them and not the rest of the scene?
uh… yea. but its to lengthen the shadows.
the shadows on the balls are waaay too dark
Listen to asphalt, he knows a lot about balls!
here, some darker balls. Maybe i’ll lighten the balls too in another try…
those look a bit better

try these on for size…
please?
ways better, but its hard to see that they lie on something… try to add sth to make the floor visible…
Maybe add some splatted ones? Because theres no way I would know they were paintballs

ya the big problem is they look liek they are floating.
Or have a the gun that shoots them in there… and that would make it look all the more realistic… Or not, i don’t really know!
i was just pbin’ (like just got back 1/2 hr ago) what i noticed is that they dont sit that perfect, make some defromed ones or something. they are to perfect. yeah try some splatter, but that might be hard.
yea a little hard. i could photoshop it but im too lazy.
How was paintballing?
