What do you recommend?
I’ve been with Media Temple for a long while and Plesk is getting annoying. I’ve heard raves about Slicehost but am not really convinced by their sales site yet.
Really just looking for a bare-bones server with root access and great speed. Distro doesn’t really matter, but I’d prefer Ubuntu or CentOS.
Need to be able to install the essentials: Apache 2, MySQL 5, Python / Django, PHP5, Qmail w/ vPopmail.
And the not-so-essentials: FFMPEG, FFMPEG-PHP, APE, Lighttpd (or other, for static file serving), etc…
Performance is my primary concern.
So, hrm?
