How much do web designers get paid per job?

I was wondering how much web designers get paid for each website that they make for a company. I know it probably varies from each different company and what they do, so:

How much would a big/corporate company pay? (examples would be pretty big well-known businesses like: Fox, Newline Cinema, WB, Xerox, Microsoft)

How much would a small business company pay? (examples: so small that nobody knows about them: a small bank with not too many branches, obscure specialty shops, uknown sporting goods brands)

Any input from anyone who knows or people who are in the field is much appreciated. Thanks. :thumb:

do a search on the forums for this. It has been asked a bunch of times.

Rev

To answer you question with a very quick response…

Big : $5000+
Small : Varies… $500 to $2000…

Just follow what rev said though… Doing a forum search will point out probably 50+ topics on this… Each with detailed explanations.

Yep, and hourly wages, I got 20/hr for one, then had a contract for 2k, and now I am working for a 10/hr project, cant complain.

Is the project usually a one man effort? Or is there a team?

Depends on the project… If it’s huge you’ll have a graphic artist, Server side programmer and a main layout programmer…

I charge a flat rate of… small business $20 / hr… and
large business $45 / hour

Trust me… Those prices are cheap

Ill work for $10/hour if someone is willing to pay me… but then again I am not offically a “Web Designer.” yet…

If anyone would ask me, I’d charge them €250 (euro’s that is, but I guess it’s about the same in $). That’s cheap, isn’t it? :beam:

web designers do not get paid much at all…the trick is to not only be a designer. That is when you can get more money for your abilities. ANyone with frontpage can coin themselves a designer. But learning the print industry, color theory, .net and 3d can separate you from them.

I work for no less than $50/hour…

That’s a good lesson to learn.
