**Excuse me if I am wrong. but keeping this thread around is the same thing as keeping a record of your wrongs around, right?

Wanna do something about that since you started this thread?

Do you mean you want me to delete this?

Anyway, i absolutely love how posts like these evolve into something else after about the first page.

It’s a well documented phenomenon you know.

Kind of a Darwinian theory has sprung up surrounding it, how the threads evolve into the survival of the weirdest. :goatee:

Regarding the pope thing…

I wasn’t talking about offending a bunch of catholics… but more about traumatized boys who may have been sexually assaulted. I don’t know about you guys, but that is no laughing matter to me.

::chuckles::

Actually no, I think it’s messed up. I actually heard on the news here (just the other day actually) about a priest that was accepted back into a church after being convicted of molestation of a child of the church. But yeah, he was accepted back into the church (he was “forgiven”) and the family of the boy was banned from the church forever.

Tell me how that makes sense… please.

It doesn’t…

Not to start discussing church and religion, but actually that makes perfect sense. Its the whole reason that I denounced my Catholic faith. The church has become (actually always has been) a huge political machine. Its all about money and power. “You give me money and you are saved…”

Its absolute crap.

My house is two blocks from a catcholic school and church. Someone that went to my school used to go to the catcholic school. She said her mom took her out of it (which she was happy of) because they taught the kids to hate people of other religions.

After she told me that, it made perfect sense to me while when I was little the kids around here hated my guts. Being I am just about the only non-catholic in a few block radius.

But I have other catholic friends that are really cool. Funny thing is, none of them went to catholic school :-\

Evolution of threads post completion of goal:

I’m all for it personaly. I don’t like deleting threads. I see anything that has been posted as an example of who I am, regardless of how good or bad it makes me look. I don’t have a problem with Phill and I scrapping all those threads the other day… some were pretty heated. Those didn’t really serve any purpose except to remind both of us about a painful situation. But for this one I see no reason to delete it. There’s nothing wrong with admiting fault… it proves that we are real… and human. Being wrong is nothing to be ashamed of.

(proud of me… trying to divert the thread away from the subject of religion? :stuck_out_tongue: )

It wasn’t religious! Oh wait… is Catholicism a religion???

:stuck_out_tongue: lol, just kidding.

ANd yes… I agree with you david.

That… is one of the major reasons I left the Mormon Church as a teen… a child molester Sunday School teacher was ex-communicated, then re-baptised a year later, then allowed to teach Sunday School again (he had repented)…

Rev

Holy hell rev! I’m an ex-mormon too! :beam:

Just another reason to like Rengirl…

There are more of us each and every day…

How long has it been? If you don’t mind me asking…

BTW - my father was so upset he asked to be ex-communicated so nobody would be responsible to try to “make him more active in The Church.” They conceded and he is no longer welcome. They would take me back, but it would take a lot more “repenting” that is for sure…

I quit about 5 years ago… when I went off to college/moved out of the house and my parents couldn’t force me to go anymore. I did mainly because I support gay and lesbian marriage, gender and racial equality and a handful of other things that the church is against.

Unfortunately I’m still in their records. I haven’t asked to be removed because I really don’t want my family members who are still in the church to be heckled and shamed everyday about their unruly daughter. The sheep tend to do that.

Fortunately though, I move so often that even those missionaries can’t keep up with me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know what you mean by the sheep…

Luckily (or unluckily I guess) most of my family has passed on, so I don’t have to worry about shaming them. Then again, I haven’t been contacted for around 10 years. That’s a good thing.

I still have a big part of my psych is based on their teachings, I just tend to take the religeous stuff and throw it out the window.
