i really think it’s the public use of foreign languages that lets us know whether or not someone is making an effort.
joan of arc wasn’t burnt because she was a witch, but because she was a threat to the English and the Burgunds (??) at the time. But Cauchon (who decided to burn the woman) said she was a witch: he couldn’t obviously say that he had to burn her because the English told him to.

but public schools are gov’t funded. those are the ones people are attempting to take religion out of.

that’s the point i was making. except i was noting that some public schools still have religion in them. i also agree it’s a good thing to have religion and public education separate.

i went to what we call a public school, you guys call it private (fee paying) and we sang hymns every morning etc…and most kids joined in…
but i remember all the jewish kids had their own special assmebly every morning and i was young, so were were like wtf!?! where the jewish kids?
my old school is based on christian morals and has a chaiplain liek most universities, just no rabbi!
my gov was too proud with their own language and ordered those ppl who owned restaurants hotels and such to change their business name from english to indonesia which sounds ridiculous and funny as hell… and how are you supposed to translate “Excalibur” to indonesia hueheuheu lol but yea its true my goverment is so full of idiotic and moronic people in the past, present and future… no cure.
India too did that for a while, but only for major cities. They renamed Bombay to Mumbai, Madras to Chennai, Calcutta to Kolkata, and possibly others…big change I know! Most people I know still call them by their, imo, much cooler sounding British names
