Have you ever gotten that spam about some guy in Africa who needs your help acquiring a fortune, with claims of giving you a lot of money if you help?
Then you have to read this: http://www.scamorama.com/threebucks.html

I think I have read 4 pieces of junk mail in my life. Pretty much anything that has a FW: in the header I delete without reading unless it’s got an attachment or it’s from a close friend. Other than that I dont read spam.
I clicked the link though - there is a heck of a lot to read, you care to summerize?
Yeah, I received an e-mail that looked like this once.
I didn’t bother to read everything on that page, but this is what I should have done!
just read the last letter completely and skim the others.
basically it sums up to:
Some guy is trying to scam people by asking for money.
Instead someone gets the e-mail and replys pretending to be able to help and send money.
They have a loooong discourse and the original scammer ends up sending $3 to the intended victim.
Then the victim replys with the last e-mail.
The opening and closing parts of the letter alone are a riot:
“My SUPREMELY BROKE and BONEHEADED Son…”
“Father Kindly Contributor, MESSIAH…”
“Skipping and DANCING WITH GLEE,
Big Daddy Kane Kindly Contributor”
Well i got one mail similar to this too, actually my gf fwd’ed that one to me.It had a message if u mail AOL or forward this mail to all ur links, he can save his dotr’s life and stuff… my gal is kinda emotional, i bet many are hehehehe
They were just collecting email address to b used in email broadcasters and other softwares similar to that. Ever wondered how u get junk mails?
Hope it makes sense to u guys too, so do ur friends a favour and dont fwd that stuff.I mean come on, u think who’s dotr is on a death bed, will go to the internet and do all this?
Hope i m making sense and i thot we were talking bout spam mails, not a perticular type of spam, r v?

Some people ACTUALLY end up getting scammed hundreds of thousands of dollars! Just remember - If it’s too good to be true, it probably is (especially on the internet).
Those people have to read point 4 of the last e-mail. Hahaha!
Cool.
AHAHAAaaahhhhahhhaAHAHAhaHaHAHah!!! This guy is brilliant. Point 4 is a monument!!
i never got one of these, but hope not too lol.
those nimrod’s actually correspond with you if you make like you’re willing to go along with their scam… its mildy amusing…
There was a similar story about a similar scam featured in WIRED magazine once… it was pretty funny how it ended… the lady acted as if she was believing the story, and actually travelled to another country where they were supposed to meet… finally, she sends him a link to a site saying it has the info about her bank account or something. All the site had was a ‘KISS MY ***’ in big letters… pretty funny :beam:
here is another prank involving the same scammers or someone close at least

pretty funny reading for my 3 am coffee break
oh also in the one that was posted here, our scammer sadly types…
“MY SISTER WAS SHOT IN THE LEG AND SHE ALSO DIED. I AM NOW IN A REFUGEE CAMP IN GHANA AND AM SUFFERING WITH NOTHING.”
I’m sure the refugee camp guards wouldn’t be so happy about him leaving out the part about the wonderful accomodations they have there, such as internet access, extreme long distance phone plans, computer peripherals like scanners and digicams, and escort transportation. I’m sure they would feel that thsi was a bad representaion of the luxory life of the refugee camp!
My SUPREMELY BROKE and BONEHEADED Son
ROFL, is this guy kidding?!
haha golgi, i like your signature… i think it actually captures mankinds progression throughout the ages. haha
hehe, thanks
