:bounce:

It’s creative. I can haz new pointers?!

nice

I suppose one thing is that the content display isn’t obivous, the navigation gets in the way

thanks guys … yeh i like subtle. some people might get lost… but hey at least it’s not the same ole :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s hard to see the color change when you roll over the planets, and you should be able to also navigate by clicking on the bottom if you feel like it.

Nice site zoo

Je l’aime.

Fidodo - i was going to have the bottom clickable as well for navigation… then i went wah! no i don’t want to  it may not have been the right choice… but i have had some props for doing things my way  thanks sushi dude!

zoo_buffalo, it’s nice to see a pro in here for a change. What brings you to Kirupa? You have a beautiful site. I’m really diggin’ your pixel art.

Are you in the freelance circuit or are you running a company yourself?

thanks man! i work for ROKKAN in NYC as a flash developer. i’m here because i still have plenty plenty to learn about flash heh! the pixel aesthetic is here to stay! woop! hey to tokyo!!

Excellent work. Don’t mind what people say about confusing navs. At some point you have to stand up for yourself and your ideas and if Jane, 59 gets lost in your nav then so be it. The rest of the world will love it.

Very nice.

Really nice work. The nav was unique, but only took a second to figure out. Your preloader reminded me of group94’s a little, though.

Very well done

thanks so much! really appreciate your comments - i’ll keep trying to be different

p.s. erik just checked out your stuff, made a ducky etc. feel even better that the compliments came from someone so skilled themselves - thanks again!

Why thank you

I really like it, great work! I think, though, the color change thing should remain after you click on something so you can tell where you were… if that makes sense.

I’ll just tell you everything I think about it as I think it about it. :\

  1. Love the character’s following the cursor. No point to it, but its cute and interesting. I want to get to know them better. Maybe they should be a recurring theme in your sites with stories.
  2. The pie circles are some distracting nav. You have to mouse around them slowly to highlight each section, then you have to look to the bottom of the page to see what it links to. I think this could be easily fixed if you made some points of interest on each of the balls, or color code each section. I’m not sure. Something needs to be done about it though.
  3. I don’t know if it’s just me, but a lot of pictures you’ve drawn expand too large and cut off the “X Close” link. I can barely see the bottom of it. (I use FF @ 1024x768 - try the Horse drawing for example)
  4. I wish the pictures at the bottom would highlight, could be clicked on, and scrolled through without having to use that circle nav. Some people prefer that kinda stuff (like me).
  5. I’m undecided on the background. It does remind me of an interesting fabric, but maybe it’s a bit too contrasty (a good word that never gets used).

Overall: I love the originality. The character nav is really interesting. You’re a brilliant artist. BUT I think the nav either needs redone, or you should add a scroll/link function into the slideshow at the bottom. Maybe lower the contrast of the background. And make sure you fix that image view that expands the [CLOSE] button off-screen.

Good job gogo hyperforce!

Edit: Oh by the way. I really want to actually pull that light string, not just click it and watch it pull.

Off topic: I never knew group94 existed. Jeez they look sah-weet…

Make the preloader text unselectable.

Excellent work on display here. Keep it up.

Looking great! I really like the nav and then fun feel of it. Only thing I would mention is that I cannot close some of the image boxes on 1024x768, but that’s been mentioned already by w1sh.
