Found this interview with Natalie Portman where she says that not only is Leon 2 in the pipelines but there is a script and she’s talked to Beeson about doing the movie
How can you have Leon 2 without Jean Reno. This movie is a classic and while I’m curious I just think it could be a disaster…please leave it alone.
Wow - Leon 1 was a great movie I would rather not have a sequel for that movie, for in the first one, Leon died, right? That’s like having Matrix 2 without Neo!
There’s this super assasin (leon) who’s quiet and likes to drink milk. His neighbors are killed by some mobsters and the neighbors daughter ends up staying with leon. Leon then ends up teaching the girl to become an assasin. A whole bunch of stuff happens and in the end the girl ends up in an all girls halfway house. At least that’s how I remember it
:OT:Guess nobody picked up on my pun it was a good one wasn’t it
I hate to say that, but the movie might have been better that way :-/
Concerning a Leon 2, I don’t know. The original movie was wonderful, but Luc Besson hasn’t directed or written anything worth seeing since the 5th element so…
The french version is Leon. The american version is The Professional. I have 3 or 4 versions of the film on VHS to DVD. I agree, no sequel, its way to good of a movie to have a sequel to ruin its rep. But I always wondered if Matilda would grow up to take on his work.
Gary I think it was called Leon in Europe but the Professional in the states (kinda like you say)
How about a prequel? When Leon is talking to Tony they mention Leon was in trouble when he arrived in the states cause of a woman to which Leon replies “I wish I could forget sometimes”…that might be intresting cause the more I think of it the more it sounds like a mistake
three characters made the first one great, two of whom dies in the first one. Just sounds like a bad idea, don’t do it Beeson, please…how about fifth element 2 that’d be cool :thumb:
I just wanna see Bruce Willis bully Chris Tuckers DJ and shot mengaloids (sp?) they can change that small detail can’t they?
The good thing about 5th element other than the script & effects are the characters. From Bruce Willis, Gary Oldham, Ian Holm, Chris Tucker & Milla Jovovich (sp?) the characters rock. Even the president and Dallas’s old seargant are all great and important to the movie.
With strong characters like that half your work for a sequel is already done. They don’t have to battle evil, perhaps an invasion of earth or something would be good but I think it’d be a shame to never see these characters again.
glad people over here have such a great taste in movies (edit: apart from 5th element and matrix 2 - both only ok-movies in my opinion, but not more than that)
Leon (1) was great, and I hope they will reach a level close to that with the sequal.
maybe with different story and different characters, I doubt a sequal that plays in the same setting (no matter before or after) will be such a good idea
