but thats the beauty of lego! It satisfys both the creative and destructive side of human nature.
Yeah, but it was my bloody Lego he smashed! I’d spent ages on that ship, it was perfect!
I’m still bitter about that, in case you hadn’t noticed.
a woman? Bitter about something that happened years ago? Never! I refuse to beleive its true! tounge firmly in cheek
Lego guys are so cool, but I’m having trouble telling them to stand straight while walking in my movie…time to bring out the fish lines.
Blu-Tak, that’s what you need.
Orange, it’s my brother, I’m allowed to hate his guts.
heh, sorry kit. I forgive you for hating your brother. Thats perfectly acceptable! Im almost proud in fact
…i wanna go home and play with lego now waaahhhhhhh!
There is a healthy amount of sibling rivalry there.
I also want to play with Lego. Bwa. One of the guys here has a Lego X-Wing on his monitor… Creeps over
They say (y’know… “they”) that lego has been the most formative tool in the development of young arhitects and engineers in the last 50 years.
THink of the effect it has on a kids mind. I wonder how many designers have been created by its influence.

allowed, try obligated. It’s a basic rule of nature
lego is fun… had tons of it too. also know the feeling of brothers smashing something you worked on ahwell. yeh they where less detailed in the early days. shame, lego was perfect around the first series of pirates though. but now there is just too much print on the blocks.
Pierce you are right on the creative influence of lego’s i think… i used to spend ages building. lol my cousin was always yealous of the way i could build cooler houses with less blocks then him :)… usually when i got to the playing part i got bored and destroyed something so i could start building again lol
Black_Lightning, I know what you mean with the lego. Back when I used to play with lego, it never really appealed to me because once I’d built it, I didn’t want to play with it but I didn’t have enough pieces to build my own thing. I once built a massive lego castle (a packaged thing - not my own) and it was great; for about two hours. Then I was thinking “Hmm… this is rather boring. What can I do to make it better?” and took the castle to pieces.
Maybe I have no imagination when it comes to toys… I just never found ‘playing’ with lego fun. It would be kind of like “Wow. Look. He’s moving because I’m moving him with my hand. Joy.” and that pretty much sums up my lego experience.
Sibling rivalry, now that’s a long story :). My sister is leaving for University in a few months (taking her A-levels atm) and right now, we’re getting on fine. But a few years back, we used to shout and argue and well… sibling stuff. She used to drive me insane .
And Kit, how is your brother? Presumably hiding under a rock trying to escape your fury :P.
And at the moment, I have no ideas whatsoever for a stop-frame animation :-.
well playing was sometimes fun, usually when i went over to play at my cousins place, but with my brothers. nah :)… buildbuildbuild
bout my animation…probly t’aint gonna be lego
but now i’m doubting again, another idea popped in my head. guess we will see

Not quite… He’s currently loafing around at home having graduated from University. Can’t be bothered to find himself a job, so is staying back with the parents. :sure:
We kind of get on better now we’ve found common ground - the irritating nature of our mother.

yet another thing that is common in nature :), not always (me mum’s a dear most of the time) but when she’s isn’t :-\ ya better watch out
Me and my mother get on much better ever since I moved out when I was 18.
yeah, my mum kicked me out when in jan, but we get on great now! lifes good like that.
Interesting movie… I feel kinda off topic now even talking about it. One way that I found that does a really neat effect.
- once you have you AVI created
-open AVI in premier and export as a filmstrip
-open filmstrip (this blew me away the first time) in Photshop.
It actually looks like a really long filmstrip. you can zoom in and view each individual frame. You are then able to add anything you like on top of each frame, adjust the colour, put in roger rabbit, or a ufo…etc…
-Then I thought this part was so coooool, you can save it as a film strip file and play it as an AVI with all your neat little effects on top of it.
This is just a cool way to be able to add effects after to you AVI’s
wow, thanks for that, i shall try it later
sweet! you can do something similiar to that in Flash. My second animation on this thread has Flash Elements that are over the original frames…
Majeye…that didn’t load for me the first time. Looking good, I am sure you want to clean it up but i really like that old school look. (which is really a lack of millions of dollars of equipment:)) But it looks great!!!
