**question, are we allowed to edit out minor stuff?..like fish lines…?..or add minor details…bullets? **
I think it’s ok to remove stuff (like fishing wire etc), but personally, I’d say it’s pushing the boundaries of “stop-frame” by adding stuff through photoshop - other people’s opinions? it’s gonna be taking it too much out of context if people start adding bullets and whatnot

opinions plz??

So can we use PhotoShop or not ? And what do you guys (and girls  ) consider famous movie scenes ? What might be famous to me, might not be famous to you …

the editing yes… difficult… where do you draw the line with the small stuff. Some ppl wanted to add a glow to lightsaber. and adding out fishing wires. all ok by me. but how do you know ppl didn’t edit more. Afterall there are ppl that are really good with photoshop.

my scene wouldn’t look as good without editing but i guess it will have to do

I suggest: no editing. Who cares about fishwires or anything, just focus on the animation.

Can I use my webcamera or do I have to use my digital? I think it’s easier to use the webcamera…

I’m quite up for ‘no editing’. perhaps editing stuff out (like fishwires for etc) but not editing-in. I think it’d be far more funny/entertaining to see what people can come up with using household items and stuff.

could make it hilarious in fact

I think lightsabers and bullets and stuff like that are pushing it somewhat. I’m quite against the use of photoshop for this battle (obviously I’ll be using it for resizing and cropping the frames, but that’s it. no other editing).

is that a general concensus?

as long as it’s stop-frame animation in Flash (with a preloader ;)) that’s fine.

Alrit, what about sound? Music allowed?

yeah, sound fx/music is fine

remember though: people are going to have to download it - it’s no good creating a masterpiece of modern-day cinema if they have to wait about 2 decades to view it… when it will be ye olde-day cinema

:beam:

Great, thanks a lot, I’m syked.

me too!

though, I should start rifling through my collection of films to find good/suitable scenes - what is everyone else considering?

MATRIX!..I got my ideas set…here they are, no on steal them now…

  1. The scene in the first movie where Agent Smith copy was firing at Neo and he did the knee bending dodge of bullets. But now I’m not so sure.

OR

  1. The scene in the second movie where he gets crowded by all those Agent Smiths, he grabs that pole and spins around it kicking all the copies. It’s going to be amazing, that is, if I can get it straight.

w00t! yeah, i considered the first one

will be v.impressive if you can pull either of them off! :beam:

O definitely, but I don’t have too many lego dudes, I might need to get some more to create the effect. First, I thought of that scene when he blows all of them away, but then I’d need a mini explosion to capture. Too difficult.

ugh had the same idea… but i wouldn’t be working with lego’s. hmmm maybe i better find somthing else now:-\

OK, to clarify. No adding extra effects with Photoshop. Speech bubbles will be OK, but lightsabres etc are not. It’s meant to be what you can create with items you can locate, not how good your drawing is.
