Mac OS on PC

The best app for a pc is an app that
lets you run MacOS.

Introducing ‘Basilisk II’ - the fastest MacOS emulator for pc.
It emulates a 68k Mac and runs up to OS 8.1.
It lets u read any mac-format disc and install any
68k programs.

Great for anyone who wants to test out MacOS.
and did i mention, its free?

You’ll need a few things:

  1. a Quadra or Performa ROM (find it on google or PM me )…

  2. an OS 8.1 disk-image (no installation needed) - (search ‘os8.zip’ on google)

  3. and Basilisk itself http://gamma.nic.fi/~lpesonen/BasiliskII/B...32_20012001.zip

Once you have them, unzip them all into C:\MAC (for convenience).

Then startup BasiliskIIGUI.exe

go to the ‘Disk’ tab. click ‘browse’. locate the disk image (.dsk or .hfv).

go to the 'Memory tab. click ‘browse’. locate the ROM.

click the ‘Screen’ tab. change screen res as you wish.

click RUN (or press F1)!!!

You now have OS8.1 up and running!
Click ‘Special>Shut Down’ to exit MacOS (this wont shut down your PC).

Anyone know how to emu OS X ?:disco:

who said you have to use NS with Mac?
theres safari, icab, mozilla and, gulp, IE.

neways grimdeath, softmac discontinued
work on their powerpc emulator a while ago
for legal reasons. the highest you can emu
is 8.1 :frowning:

Ahh darn, I heard many people were “easily” emulating OS 9 on Basilisk II…

but it’s still not OS10. :frowning:

Yea, I grant you I dont know jack about macs, but what I do know is that the mac os is the most stable. I dislike those computers I used to have to use them at school, the most unreliable heap of crap out there…
