I think downloading MX 2004 would be nice, but pretty unethical. The people who develop MX 2004 work pretty dam hard and do some amazing stuff. If you want to use it, you should buy it…or at the very least download it then mail Macromedia an anonymous check for a hundred bucks.
Yeah - rb and others, please refrain from referring to software piracy.
i just told my boss and they just placed in order, should be here in about 2 weeks.
lucky you…want to mail me the cd when you are done?..i could spend a thousand on it…or I could eat for the rest of the year. It’s really a tough call.
hey everybody,
all the books should still be good
ActionScript 2.0 is optional
…aaaaand allthough I’ve not seen it, it is purported to be not so very different than 1.0 as it is an extended version…
(things added vs things changed)
hence the most fundemental aspects of AS should remain the same
…somebody correct me if I’m wrong but that is what I gathered…

RelandR - Great info man, thanks muchly.
I think I will be getting the pro version here at work. My biggest worry is that it was going to be soley for coding and I wouldnt be able to work my way around it - I guess you have squased that fear. Those video specs sound way to good to be true, I cannot wait! Thanks again my man.
NP tuk…
here’s a secret link to some stuff made by the new MX, scroll down to “INTO site” link … It’ll prompt you to dnld the new beta player (#7) - afterwards, close the browser and relaunch it then go back there and scroll down to the “INTO site” link again and then “launch…”

Did anyone here get to attend the Worldwide Usergroups event? I did, It was fantastic! more details
i just dont want it to change to much, ive only just got used to normal flash mx…
They pointed out at the presentation that they intentionally didn’t change the interface so much that people wouldnt have to familiarize theirselves with Flash all over again
we didn’t get a colin mook presentation :bad:
…but all in all it was great…
haha yeah… colin was just great… he’s pretty funny
yay!! good good, im just starting college with 'nuff programming in my computer course (sql, php, xml, html, bit of pascal), all i needed was having to re familiarize myself with flash and i’d be swamped…relief :thumb:
It looked the same to me +++ some cool snap out/collapsable sideBars and more menu schtuffs and windowPanel options and, and
…actually made it MORE user friendly :beam:
I dont see anything wrong with being a pirate of the internet if you can afford the software. You might as well learn it now, and when you can afford it, get it. If not, you will not learn the software and never come around to use it…
Thats why I applaud maya for having a free academic version! People learn to use it, then when they grad or get a job… there is no reason they will switch to other software so they will go out and buy it!
you are a very lucky guy ahmed to get to go to that. My area has something like that later,…but I am out of town anyways
RB, that’s what the 30-day trial’s there for…
they used to say (maybe they still do ?) in their FAQ that you could go for another 30 days as long as it was on a “different” box
