lol i’m always late (unfortunatly except for work)
I hate people that are always late (like when coming to pick me up, or saying they will be somewhere at a certain time and not being there) Nothing makes me more angry
But on the internet it’s a different story. There is no way to keep up with EVERYTHING besides, you know what they say “better late than never!”
yup yup, did anyone grab a copy yet? and what’s up with AS 2.0? what’s it all about, is there diferent syntax?

You have NO idea how much I hate that! People say to meet somewhere at a certain time, they should be there at that time. I will never forget what my high school algebra teacher told us, “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is unacceptable.”
But yeah, thanks for the link anyway. I’m interested to see how it’s going to look and feel. I dunno if I’ll like it yet - things seem to keep getting more and more automated. But, like most everything, it’s worth a shot at least.
I like that quote - in fact it’s kind of the way I live my life really. I am never (or very rarley anyway) ON TIME for anything, I am usually there 10 to 15 min early, depending on the situation. I just can’t stand being late because of how much I hate it when others are late.
I had an email from Macromedia about this last Friday.
There’s seminars and stuff going on all over England where they showcase the new products. Wish I’d been able to get time off to go to one…
But it looks like they’ve listened to programmers complaints - text in Flash! They’ve taken our advice!
and it’s a snip at only $1000! :*(
i’m probably going to get it from my school with an educational discount.
It’s niiiice …but still hasn’t shipped yet … saw it last night at the UsersGroup breeze webCast event
from what I gathered, it’s very backwards compatable (you can use AS 1.0 or 2.0)
2.0 just has a bunch more OOp features added to it and several quick n’ easy behaviours and timeline events ++++
oh, not 1,000…same price as the current studioMX
-($ 899. )-
all the improvements are sweeeet

I’m the same way … I like to give myself at least 5 minutes “buffer” time, and most of the time give around 10 minutes time. Especially doctors appointments and all - cause sometimes they take you early, and you don’t have to wait in that room for hours

What about PRO?
pro is more but you don’t have to have it
…pro’s features are nice but unless you plan on using video alot, you could live without it
Reland, that’s where I run into problems.
You see - I dont program, almost at all - but I do use Video a WHOLE lot in flash. I dont know what one to get. I mean, if I get the pro version, will I be able to even use it if it’s laid out like VB? I doubt it.
Do you know if you can switch back to timelines with Pro…?
(yeah the pro vers. is the $1k price)
I think well worth the added $100 but I was just saying for those that don’t nec. need it, the standard MX is quite improved and completely adequate
The added VB style view is a sidebar tree structure thingy that gives an added ‘birds-eye view’ of all the elements in the project (read: a better movie inspector ?) but the timeline is allways available
the video features seem really nice -
drag n’ drop interface componants,
streaming and load on demand,
(ie:no need to embed the video right in the file)
all in all from what I could gleen from the demo (not a ‘hands-on-test-drive’)…
the new MX is not different so much as enhanced / improved / ++flexible
Also …a lot of the scripting of basic actions has been (optionaly) automated so it is actually easier for non-coders’
there’s a fairly indepth presentation (tour) somewhere on their site
