Mandatory political video airing by Sinclair

Big issue is this program that Sinclair is requiring all of its stations (64 I believe) to broadcast that is supposed to be an anti-Kerry slam. I feel that this is similar to Farenheit 9/11 in that it is a smear campaign but at the same time there is a difference. Farenheit 911 was optional to see whereas this will be required to be broadcast on the stations (I assume at least 1 network). This is a big issue with me because I don’t like underhanded tactics that attack people. I saw farenheit 911 because I think Moore is funny but I didn’t like the personal attack and the fact that it was an election year and it seems that this is the same issue but subjecting the general public to this. I know some will contend that it is optional because you don’t have to watch the station, but it seems to be a much more boldfaced deceitful tactic than usual election tricks.

I would like for everyone to post their opinions on what they think of these types of tactics and whether or not forcing a station to put on a political ad during primetime infringes on the medias freedoms.

Is this stepping over the line? (if possible in politics)
