Well, I don’t usually make these sort of social posts, but have any of you seen Match Point? The one directed by Woody Allen and starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys-Myers. Anyhow. I just watched it, and it got to me in a way that I haven’t had happen with a movie maybe ever.
The basic storyline, if you don’t intend to see if, or don’t mind knowing these sort of things, is as follows:
- Poor man gets involved with and marries rich girl.
- Poor man gets lots of money and big executive position at Father-in-Law’s firm.
- Poor man is now rich, and likes it.
- Same guy then has year long affair with his Brother-in-Law’s ex-Fiancee.
- Falls in love with mistress.
- Gets mistress pregnant, and wants to be with her, but can’t leave his new found life and money.
- Despite loving her, blows Mistress’ head off with a shotgun [whisper]and the neighbor too, to make it look like a robbery[/whisper] and gets away with it.
- Carrys on with life.
… :stare:
It really bothered me.
