I am an 18 year old student based in the UK who specialises in the use of flash animation.
Some of my most recent clients include BBC TV’s “The Armstrongs” and a BBC TV weatherman. I have also designed the opening title sequences for a regional news programme filmed at the BBC in the UK, as well as a school news channel in Scotland.
If you have a minute, could you also please post a message in my guestbook (link on every page of my site) as no one has posted a comment in there yet!
Thanks very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing some of your feedback.
you need to stop that scrolling news headline thing…my god my eyes nearly burst trying to read the sites content and read it too
menus ok
I’d remove the fact you’re 18 from the site, might put potential clients off
I’d consider swapping the blue bars images for maybe an image or some sort of animation…not doing much just now…in fact I’d defintely swap them for some cool animation
the have your say page is a bit weird cause you don’t say who those quotes comes from…it looks like you made them up
the portfolio page I can only open the websites to see them, if I can’t open things like logos and animations then why make them links?
but these are small things, the basics are there…just a couple of tweaks and the sites good to go :thumb:
RabBell has it on the button. The top blue bar defo needs to either show some work or be an animation including your work. It seems kinda wasted space at the moment. Sort your protfolio links, ?I’m also not 100% keen on the way its laid out…the text of the image in the portfolio is kinda messy compared to the rest of your site IMO
The static text is slightly blurry…a pixel font may improve it, but I’d understand if you didn’t want to.
Also your price list seems a bit odd, an animated button vosts £35, where 1 flash page costs £10…What if my one flash page has 10 animated buttons. Personally I’d remove the prices, give quotes on specific briefs, otherwise people might be expecting a lot for £10…lets face it £10 is anhours work tops. Designing a site after liasing with the client in anhour is a big big ask not matter how small the job. Bt if your happy to work for that
Well done on the BBC work too. Site is looking pretty nice. Just needs the finishing touches
Agreed - remove the prices - having a price list on a design site really makes it look like a “factory” and is somewhat unprofessional in my opinion. If you want to sell your services as client-specific design solutions - not every design / animation / etc. is going to cost the same. For example look at any well established design studio - and you’ll never find prices on their sites. However, look at kinkos or the quick handy dandy print man’s site, and you’ll find prices. If you want to be the minute man flash shop - stick with the prices, but I hate to recommend that to anyone.
